  • Chomsky....always the apologist for communism. India was NOT a capitalist democracy. From independence in '48 to 1991, India had massive public ownership in its industries and massive regulation & protectionism. Therefore, if India *did* have 100 million people that perished in the same amt of time that Maoist China was in place (1949), the poverty in India would NOT be attributed to "capitalist democracy". Is this guy stupid or just dishonest?

  • Yeah Chomsky, How do you fix the press?

  • @urische You did your PhD study where?

  • em-heh!! em-heh!!

  • @BenKenobie47 lol so it wasnt only me who noticed ahaha!

  • Turkey is occupying Cyprus...!!!!!

  • (7:58) " one of TWO cases where a state is illegally occupying the territory of another people. "

    errrrr, why only exactly two? what about e.g. Chinese occupation of Tibet ?

    illegally =?= illegal-by-worldcourt(orsumsuch)decision-ly

  • @wda013 maybe because it's not an illegal occupation, or maybe it's not important enough, or both.

  • @wda013 I agree with you. Upwards 200,000 Tibetans died in China's "great leap forward."

    I would suppose that he didn't included it though because the occupation of Tibet began in the 1950s, which is you know, 60 years ago; so it's not exactly a modern occupation.

  • "u seem to know a lot of facts and stuf....." " how do you do it" LOL, perhaps the silliest question i've heard in a while-- not saying that it's bad, but silly!

    U.S. Flag Recalled After Causing 143 Million Deaths - Pretty apt article on the history of the United States; as is usually the case, satire is the most honest (e.g. Animal Farm)

  • Part 2 is now available. Check it out. It was recorded at MIT, in Pr. Chomsky office on Dec. 14 2010. I updated the video info.
