Zelaya should form a Political party that has a platform of the stuff he thinks the poor need......The problem with Honduras is that the People there don't pay any TAXES to fund the needed stuff for the poor. A President and Congress can't do much without money so they need something like the IRS. I am from Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras, and can tell you that most people there are RICH because they Rent rooms at USA prices in a country where labor is less than $4/day and NO TAXES PAID!

The people spoke in the past elections, they are not comfortable with all situation, they would prefer to be under the same RICH make themselves richer, and the poor poorer. Zelaya had good intention, but that was it, only intentions. He did not follow what he preach. Now we have to suffer for a while all the negative aspects of it.

Hopefully we would have a president that would really care about the poor. For now, lets continue as we had, for the past 30 years.

If Honduras is so poor, where does its wealth go?

A few rich families? Yes.

The Catholic church? Yes.

The rest to the U.S. families and shareholders who own the banana plantations and export business.

Corruption? Crime? The major and enduring criminal behavior is the theft of a people's wealth by entrenched foreign interests.

Honduras and most small nations suffer from that. Talk about constitution, democracy, revolution is nothing compared to that daily ongoing plunder.

The problem is that president Zelaya did not have a fair hearing, and i should repeat - no matter what the Honduran "Constitutional court" and his own party members have decided - the fact remains that THERE WAS NO FAIR AND LEGAL HEARING for his case to be heard and argued, and instead of the properly conducted legal process he was overthrown by force which is JUST 100000000% unconstitutional. That is the root of the problem, not whether or not he was seeking to amend the presidential term limit

In fact, constitutions get changed or amended (through referendums) all over the place, (less often concerning the presidential term limits, but nevertheless). It's a regular democratic mechanism of societies bringing their legislature up to date with their aspirations, needs and realities. European Union just undergone an adaptation of a new European constitution, which was voted upon and assumed new legal power over the pre-existing national constitutions. Don't be a stuck up, learn facts.
