The earth was formed in the nebulous cloud that created the rest of the solar system. The universe was already here; it merely expanded. We don't know how yet, but that's no reason to give up trying to find the answer and say god did it. Evolution is the result of natural chemical reactions. the weight loss argument is an attempt at the rational argument . but it undermines all notions of the sole being other worldly and etherial. as you very corectly deduced something imaterial can not be materialy verified. even if comunication could be conducted from a god to a human the idea that the human could have the capacity to understand or know god presumes godlike capacities of the human. humans with god like capacities is verifiably untrue on the balance of probabillities.

Also, there are several verses in your precious Bible that depict death as eternal, with no afterlife.
Psalm 31:17, Psalm 88:5 Ecclesiastes 9:5, Ecclesiastes 9:10, Isaiah 38:18.
And there are many other verses that say we are resurrected from the grave:
Isaiah 26:19 (nice contradiction there), Daniel 12:1, Luke 14:14, 1 Corinthians 15:52, Mathew 27:52-53.
The concept of hell didn't even arise until the New Testament. So where was it during the OT?
