  • Mam... Thank you for that video. I had searched and searched and nothing. I too was cleaning my wife's gun like this one and yes.... I had the SAME THING happen to me. So.. I had to search to find out what to do.... THANK YOU>>>

  • Thanks! I just had this same problem for about two hours and could not figure it out. This video was right on the money. Thanks again.

  • Thanks!! Made my day!

  • Life saver!

  • thank you so much for this video... this was the only thing i found on the whole internet that shows how to fix this problem... i dont have a manual. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • Thank you, it's simple videos like this that alleviate frustrating problems. Thanks again!

  • I've used manuals found online to fix my brother's 380 like the one on here. I also plan on getting a Kahr PM9 with no hassle of breaking like the Colt. I think it's a design flaw and Sig even copied it.

  • Just purchased a colt pony 380 thanks for info

  • This happened to my Sig Sauer P238. It took me a couple of hours to get it corrected and everything working again. I'm not that knowledgable at that level of how the parts work. That is the only thing I don't like about the P238.

  • Awesome, I was freaking out about this, magazine would load, all sorts of words were coming out of my mouth....lol....this was a wonderfully simple fix to what I thought would be a nightmare....Thank you so much.

  • Thank you for posting this! Add me to the list of panicked Mustang strippers, now becalmed by this info.

    Thumbs up! :)

  • I have never had a more perfect video in my LIFE to help me with such a specific problem... I love you.

  • Excellent! Thank you very much!

  • I love you!!! Im buying a full size 1911,so I thought it would be a great idea to get experience on field stripping one. I went and got my moms series 80 gi pistol to do it with.Well, I successfully did it a couple of times until I encountered this problem. I have felt so scared and bad until I found this video! Thanks!

  • wow thankyou now I can fix my colt

  • Thank you so much

  • Thank you so much! I was dis-assembling/re-assembling my wife's (Christmas present) Sig P238, for cleaning, and this is exactly what happened to me. I had no idea what to do. Needles to say, I (and, especially, she) were really upset. She really loves that gun. Though, she did put her hand on my shoulder and said that she forgave me... before I found your video... Your fantastic advice (which allowed me to fix the situation) really saved my bacon. Thanks again, and keep up the great videos.

  • Thanks for the great advice! You saved me from a ton of frustration. Your advice was spot on.

  • 1:16 how's he going to kill you if you broke up his gun......just kidding i know he could use a knife

  • I had this problem the first time I cleaned mine 12 years ago. The gun sat for 10 years...and I did it again !! UURRGHH !!! It is an easy fix though and it is a very small inconvienience considering how fine a weapon this gun is. There is a reason SIG now makes a copy of this peice [sig p238] THIS IS THE FINEST .380 PISTOL EVER MADE !! BAR NONE !!

  • whoah... Thank a bunch it happened to be today and your video was perfect. Thanks...

  • Thank you so much!

I have the .380 gov't but had the same problem. Thankyou for clearing it up!

  • Glad to see you were able to "SPRING" into action and make it very clear what you were talking about to help folks. I think I see why I like my Glock.

  • Admit it, you purposely neglected to adding "spring" when you said sear to annoy your husband!

    And it clearly worked lol

  • Plain and simple.............THANK YOU for the video! You just saved me A LOT of time!!

  • Calm down, lol. Nobody minds that you called a sear spring a sear. You're forgiven, haha. One correction is enough.

  • the whole spring correction texts was very funny lol

  • you saved my life friend thanks jajaja

  • I wish I saw this last night when I had this exact same problem. I ended up doing it the hard way and removing the thumb safety and a few other parts and it still wasn't easy. I wanted to freak out when I saw this and how easy it was!

  • LOL, read the manual! I love it!

Reminds me of Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man: "How'd you learn to shoot like that?" "I read a book... it came with the gun."

Thanks for clearing up a possible "OH CRAP!" moment with this firearm (and possibly others with a similar design).

  • Unfortunately, when we bought our first Mustang it was used and didn't come with a manual so we didn't really know what we were doing. The next one came with a manual and upon reading it we discovered that the instructions were in there... it was nice to know.

  • @limalife Do you think this fix would work on a .380 Colt Government Mk IV? I've got a friend that has a problem with his .380 (the mag wont go in) and this seems like a possible solution.

  • @ImWatchinTheTube

Yes, the procedure is actually in the manual which is common for the Mustang, Mustang +II, and Government .380, if your friend does not have the manual it can be downloaded from Colt's website.

  • @limalife Thanks for the response! I hooked him up with your video but he had already snapped the ejector like a twig in a hail storm so it was a little too late. Thanks for the great video though, it will help a ton for future reference if I buy a Mustang (that Gov't .380 is really nice looking so I think I will).

  • Just so happens I am a registered flashlight holder I will send you my resume

Mean while 5 stars for you

  • i love those little guns...they are such a cool little 380. this is good info to know about this gun. 5 stars

  • once again exellent video!!

  • ok my 380 says colt Mustang MK IV series 80

and on the back it says plus II - is mine the same and will it do that as well... normally I would look at it but I dont have time.... I just remembered that the colt 380s werent all the same... thanks

  • I bet that happens to a lot of people during cleaning and they don't have any idea of how to fix it. Very informative and useful video!

  • u keep saying spring spring spring a lot my buddy has the colt defender it's really nice

  • great vid 5*

  • wow, unless theres a reason i needs to be able to get stuck like that, isnt this a big design flaw that could have people breaking something?

thanks for making this video. i usually run to youtube videos when good 'ol google search fails to provide answers.

  • Some could consider it a design flaw.. sure.. but it works. You just have to be careful with it. When the magazine is in it prevents the ejector from swinging down like that so it's really not a problem when actually firing and operating the gun but it is annoying if you accidentally do this while cleaning.

Sig's new (well, semi new) 238 fixes this problem and prevents the ejector from swinging down like this.

  • The perfect work light is a head lamp.

  • I'll give this a +1. I thought I had enough light from the sun coming in the window but nope...

  • i use my mouth as a third hand to hold the flash light

  • But then I couldn't talk.. I'm sure some people would say that was okay. :D

  • u actually have a lovely speaking voice, something not common in YT videos lol. But as someone else said a headlamp is very handy. Thanx for the useful vid.

  • SEAR.....

    SPRING!

  • cool colt how many rounds do those hold?

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

  • great vid. glad to see you making more vids

  • I wish a wider range of firearms where avalible in the UK.

  • no one is making you stay.. go someplace where it is legal to defend yourself.

  • I'm a minor.

  • well everyone else seems to be able to get into the US illegally...

  • @tesla120 Same in the UK

  • SPRING..

    SPRING..

    SPRING!!!

lol I had to laugh at that, cool movie I want one of these but, I think the sigs look a lot better.

  • We've been wanting one too, just for the novelty of having it.. Not to mention we could carry it instead of carrying the Mustangs.

  • I believe the Sig is also a little lighter if my memory serves me correctly, so a little less of a burden to carry.

  • Five Stars My Friend!

  • Looks like 1911, but its missing the Beavertail grip safety

  • Yeah, they look a little like them. The Government .380 even has a tiny little barrel bushing... it's so cute!

  • That is a beauty! I bet you saved a lot of people grief by making this video! 5*****

  • Thank you for the video.

However, I think you made a good argument against buying the Colt Mustang. :)

    Thanks again.

  • They are collector's pieces now and getting harder (and more expensive) to find. The Sig made a Mustang clone in the 238 that doesn't have this problem. We would REALLY love to get one of those Sigs.

  • Gunbroker has some 238s listed for around 550 buyout. Item 153078519. Just saying :)

Thanks again, my wife loves your vids.

  • Someday.. someday I'll get one.

  • For a second I thought you detail stripped it.
