I have CVS, was recently told in Oct. that this is what was going on with me. I have been in and out of the hospital the past 7 months been hospitalized 3 times. I am 24 and been dealing with this for a long time. I was told that it was all in my head that there is nothing wrong with me since every single test (I have had every test you can think of done) came back normal.
OMG ... That was beautiful I am full of tears right now. My daughter had been going thru this since she was 6 now she's 21, searching thru the Internet has saved her life..... Thank you u give her hope!!!' Shes n the hospital as we speak! Q
Hi my name is Natalyn! I also was diagnosed with CVS. This video is very inspiring! Considering I feel Nautious everyday, no exaggerating, I feel like just giving up sometimes. But knowing I'm not alone... Helps me a lot. Thanks!
@BAbSkO13 Thanks for commenting Natalyn :) I'm glad it helped,, i definitely feels a little better knowing we aren't crazy lol. There's definitely quite a few people who know how we feel. If you ever need someone to talk to, you can always send me a message! Stay strong!
Ive had CVS for years now going on 3 and a half actually. Have you been on topomax, topiramate, or anything like that? cause im a15 yr old boy, so of course mine is not triggered by menstruation. But its nice to see that im not crazy, and that i got made fun of for nothing, :D
Your video is great and you are darling! My son, Noah is 2-1/2 and has just formally been diagnosed with CVS. He started at about 18 months!!!!! Your video made me cry because as his mom, we've been through so much as you can imagine. Keep up such a positive attitude and I pray for you and my son that they will find a cure!!!
I was diagnosed with cvs when i was 2 and i still get them at 16, mine is a little bit more unusual. I go to the hospital everytime and its doctor's orders, and i get the 2nd strongest pain meds known to science, my veins are all used up its hard to get blood draws i have a port but that has its disadvantages. My doctor said (im telling the truth here) im the worst case with cvs he had ever seen. Which was like great, lucky me :/ I lose 5lbs in a single day. im in the hospital for 4 days sucks.
Hi I've had cvs since I was 6 I'm 14 now and I was watching your video and I started crying. It was so strange cuz I didn't find out about it until I was 11 and the doctors said the same thing its probally just a stomach bug. I just wanted to say Thank you so much for making this video cuz now I believe CVS isn't really me. So Thank you.(:
* hugs! What a strong inspiring video! I was dx with CVS just 4 years ago, but have suffered, probably forever... first hospitalization in 1974. Stay strong and positive and thank you for posting... we are not alone in this!
keep positive and never let anyone tell you you can't do something. I've had CVS since 1993 and get sick 7-10 days a month. However, 20-23 days a month I'm out kayaking, snowboarding and enjoying life. It's not about what you can't do, it's all about what you can do. Nice video, it's an informative piece that I will share with others, thanks!
@TROYHARDCORE1231 This is what I like to hear from people :) It's good to see people dealing with things like this who don't let it take over their lives and are actually living it to the fullest whenever they can.. keep it up! Thank you!
I had CVS ever since i was 3. It got worse every year i started going to the hospital more and more. One time the doctor just gave one Iv he sent me home an hour later the next day i came back to the hospital rapidly vomiting. The worst part I was only three I didn't even know what was going on. I'm 12 now and have not been going to the hospital about 2 years now which im happy about. Best Luck To the all the people who are still fighting CVS
I'd hang myself if I had this, and I not just saying that either it would be agony, its already bad enough knowing the fact that I could possibly have acid reflux
@WESTMIDLANDSGIRL2K11 it is terrible but i don't think i'd ever hang myself over it.. i guess i just love the other parts of my life waaaay too much to even think of that. just gotta stay strong and have hope. :) that's certainly hard to do some days though...
@alexxvdezzy I think I might have acid reflux, don't know if it hurts as bad as CVS though (In its own way) I guess the reason I said I'd kill myself if I did have that though is because I'm the type of person who just wouldn't be able to take such agony
I also have CVS. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago but I have had it for a lot longer. I am 22 now and my episodes have definitely become fewer and farther between. I have been getting more headaches though. Thank you for making this video. I wish that I had seen something like this when I was in high school. It was frustrating and embarrassing having to explain to people what was wrong with me. I wish I had known other people out there like me.
i have cvs and have had it my entire life, 33 years now and i haven't escaped it. I have gone at the longest points one year without a vomiting episode and hospitalization. That is not to say I don't have nausea on an almost daily level. I do the best I can to have a normal life but it is extremely difficult. keep being strong as it is easier to have that hope with youth.
You're not alone Alexis. I've had CVS for almost 6 years now. The worst thing about it is understanding. I can't do ANYTHING anymore, because I always need to get sick, or shower, and no one wants to see that.... Still thinking about videoing an episode... Take care, hope all is well.
@TheGuitarguy85 it's taken me a long time to surround myself with the few people who actually try to understand. I'm moving for college in about a month and I think my biggest worry is gonna be going through trying to get people to understand all over again. I just hope people become more and more aware. Thanks for your comment :) Stay strong!
I have it too! since I was 3.... I get it 4 times a year for a duration of a week... I end up missing alot of school..... But I always get it in March, June, September and December.... Always a pattern! It really sucks that there's no cure.... Atleast i'm not alone!
@TheCTFxCLovers i'm so glad i posted this.. even though it sucks to see other people suffering with it as well, it feels good to know you aren't alone and there really are some people who actually understand what you go through!
i dont have this and i dont know anyone who does but i cannot begin to imagine how awful it must be, and for you to stay so strong through it all alexis, you are a star.
@bambihockey73 i have cyclical vomiting syndrome im the only one i New Bunswick that has it i know how she feels but mine is much different when i open my eyes i get head akes and when i eat something i throw it up :( it sucks
*Part 2* I know it's terrible but stay strong and be glad that it only took a few years to diagnose for you. Also, now that you know what you have, you can go to the hospital and they will know what to do and also stop thinking you're crazy!! You still have a long journey with it but there are people out there fighting the same battle. STAY STRONG!!
WOW! Watching this video made me tear up because this is something I've been fighting with since grade one. I'm 25 now and have JUST learned that I have CVS and it was my boyfriend who was trying desperately to figure this out when he stumble upon it on the "Dr's". It feels so good to now know that all these years of being told that kids don't get sick this often and that everything is in my head are justified with an answer. Since I was your age i've always been questioned about being bulimic.
My name is alek , i share the same problem with you. I know how hard it can be to be misdiagnosed for many years i also started having the episodes the same age! And was misdiagnosed for 3 years not 5 like you . Now im a guy so its definately not broufht on by menstruation but this video just amazed me in the fct that it was like looking in the mirror because everything you go through i know im going through right along with you . Today was actually one of my cvs days ans im at home sick i deci
@Iflyguy09 Well putting this video up has definitely been nice seeing that there IS other people going through this too, and who understand! It's been one of my weeks as well, I was in the hospital the past two days.
Thanks for watching and for your comment :), I hope you are feeling better soon! Episodes are not fun at all.
I was wondering if the docs put u on medicine to treat this awful syndrome? I hope so, and I truly hope they are helping u. See, I too have CVS. I am now 48 yrs old. I had it for about 4 yrs as a child, grades 3-6. Then it disappeared. only to return about 10 yrs ago. I was finally diagnosed 3 wks ago. I hope u are doing as well, and that your episodes are shorter and farther apart.
God Bless U & YOUR PARENTS! Give them a hug from me. I didn't have parents like u. U are TRULY BLESSED!
@deborahlynneb aww, thank you for your comment.. it means a lot!
Ive been through a lot of different medications and we have yet to find something that really works. The only thing I'm given lately is to stop symptoms (which doesn't help much either) but nothing that will actually prevent it. They are still about the same as they always have been, though. Im very lucky to have had my parent's to fight for me. Im glad you finally got a diagnosis but so sorry that it came back :/ it is terrible.
my daughter has CVS since 6 mos.old til now she is now 3 years old..everytime CVs attacked her i almost die...to see her in pain...pls any one care to help...
I remember when I used to keep being sick when I was twelve but I never really knew what it was cause I wouldn't go to the hospital about it or anything because they were starting to acuse me of making myself sick and my mom would even sometimes have abit of a go at me whenever she heard me being sick. :P
I know what your going thru. Had it really bad when I was younger. Still as of today but not as bad. Funny though, I always get it in March like clockwork. And speraticly the rest of the year. I tried nausea pills but the side effects were just as bad. Muscle cramps etc. I finally did find a medicine that works for me, kinda by accident actually.
