  • my attention was diverted by the above comment about "jew bacon". at first i thought it was some ignorant, archaic southern speak, but now i am thinking that the writer means kosher bacon made from beef or lamb.

  • @snarkdetriomphe I wondered about that? And thought maybe it was some brand or whatever? I think it is just ignorance

  • i see nothing here that doesnt look delish.

  • hey kid, key granny :)

  • Granny out.

  • im totally gonna make dis recipe

  • I'm with you Beth! I don't prefer green beans. When my grandma made them she used salted pork chunks and pearl onions! TFS anyways! Granny always makes me smile.

  • LOL Love the Granny out! Anything with bacon is good. Hugs Granny and Beth!

  • @imperceptibleme Thanks Melissa :)

  • looks yummy

  • @charlambe Thanks Charlene!

  • have you tried Sugar Green Beans?

mom makes them with a lil jew bacon, onions and some sugar and lets them cook down in the water from the cans.

so if 2 cans. she drains one and uses the other. with just alittle sugar ,less than a half. and the bacon and onion in there. and lets it cook til the water is almost gone. They are pretty good.

  • @BigBoyG1 nope, never tried it. I dislike green beans, but will pass on the recipe to her ... she is diabetic, so she will probably dismiss it right off the bat :(

  • @CookingAndCrafting You can use Splenda instead of regular sugar. Mom is diabetic too. Its just something you have once in a while. Due to my recent doc visit. I have been doing away all things sweet too. Even though I'm not diabetic. Just trying to keep it that way. But all and all they are pretty good.

  • mmmmmm Green Beans are the bomb diggity! Looks yummy! I am telling you she is a natural!

  • @COOLIKEDATAZIAN ha! Thanks :) She speaks too slowly at times and I hate poking her along but it's like damn ma! Spit it out ;)

  • iI made this but no onions. I like Grannys :) All the family vlogging fun!

  • @MrsRedAng lol! She may take over if I am not careful ;)

  • hugs for granny again :) x

  • @arabbint aw thank you :)

  • Lol @ "Granny out"!!!!

  • @macaronipop Hi Mikey!

  • Great but simple recipe. My dad always grew his own green beans which were the 36 inch or Yard Long Chinese variety and so tasty Didn't take but a few beans per person Lol. He used pancetta which is just overpriced Italian bacon but I prefer real bacon. Cheaper the better

  • @jcrefasi1 nice! I think I have seeds for those. I don't know why my first green bean plants died off, but I will try again

  • That looks good. Could i request you make poi balls :D?

  • @MysticLight174 hmm. If I can modify it to be a very small batch, I will try. Small family = not gonna be eaten much = goes to waste = something Beth tries never to do. Too ghetto to let things go to waste

  • Now there's a quickie. I agree with Mom; needs more animal fat. Green beans somehow just demand bacon grease.

  • @anmoose Lots more fat apparently lol! I thought it was funny when she was telling that to my auntie--absolutely CLUELESS that she was using almost virtually no fat with that sort of bacon

  • thats a lot of green beans!

  • @VivaLaJoy77 this is why you modify the recipe. Or eat it all week so you don't really have to cook. Just reheat.

  • Bacon 

  • @EpicForeva123 Bacon rules!

  • granny is so adorable <3

  • @Vennuch83 Thanks :)

  • Yummy!

  • @apocalyptica003 Thanks :)

  • One Of My Favorite Side Dishes, 5 Stars For Granny ; )

  • @SWTPEA64 Thanks Joe :)

  • yum yum yum. i just need the fresh green beans. thanks for sharing

  • @y3rlo You're welcome :)

  • this is so close to how we have always eaten them in my family, only difference is we use garlic instead of onion and we add red wine vinegar or balsamic and sometimes a little Parmesan cheese.

  • @ToriSterling oooh I will tell mom to try that too.

  • Easy to fix and delicious. Thanks for the recipe "Granny"

  • @ArgentineShamrock Thanks Adriana!

  • This looks so good!! Very simple and yummy : )

  • @fairy20tails Thanks! How did you daughter like her Easy Bake Oven?

  • I LOVE green beans! Tell your mom I am going to make these and thank you for doing this! YUMMY!

  • @wildheart5 Thanks Barb:)

  • Im hungery.. :c have leftovers for me?

  • This is the only way I will eat fresh green beans. It really is that simple but oh so good!!

  • @croutoncrackerjacks I am not a fan of the green beans, but maybe I should have tried this dish. I can stand them if they are thrown into a stir fry because they are few and far between. But when concentrated like this in a dish? Yeah, I kinda pass

  • I bet bacon would make that taste real good. I hope your dinner turned out really good.

It was fun to hear your mom!

  • @justwant2bhappy Bacon is awesome ;)

  • That looks so good! Have you ever tried Green Bean Almondine? You could use the same package of greens beans used in your vid. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a pan add slivered almonds(about 2 tbsp but I use more) cook until golden on low heat. Add tsp lemon juice and pour over cooked green beans. This is my fave veggie to make for Thanksgiving other than the sweet potatoes.

  • @ladygladys I have fixed them like that. Love them both ways! :)

  • @ladygladys I'm not a fan of green beans at all. So mother is alone when she makes them. I will definitely pass this recipe on to her so she can enjoy your recipe, thank you!

  • hahaha your mum has such an excited awesome voice when she speaks :P So cute the vids made with you two! hope you had a good nye with fam! beans looked delicious

  • @MissPonderosa ha! She's a goofball :)

  • I love Granny's recipe! Just bought fresh green beans today...I'm definitely making this for breakfast! Yum! TFS!

  • @bananashaveice Did you make it?

  • Looks very yummy..... Happy New Years to you and your love ones......

  • @msscrz Thank you and the same to you and yours

  • My mom adds cooked bacon to her beans that come from a can. Bacon always makes things taste better. Cooking them this way is a great idea!

  • @beccawitch Agreed!
