  • I think you're confused. There are no curfews or harassments within Israel proper. The curfews are in the occuppied territories only, for security purposes. Who "owned" Palestine at the time of the Balfour Declaration? There was never, ever, EVER a Palestininian government.

  • I read amnesty international website. I also read other international human rights website.I watch youtube videos which provide the real account of the palestinian life in daily basis from volunteers who had been there. :)

Millions of people have perished within the last two decades as a result of civil wars, repression, racial and social persecution, and tribal conflicts, from Cambodia to much of Africa. More than 2 billion people live in repressive dictatorships, but there is persecution too in countries that are free or partly free.

The UN divided what remained of Palestine, after Trans-Jordan was carved out of it, into two states of roughly equal size (The Israelis got slightly more actual land, but the Palestinians got considerably more arable land).

  • The Arabs living in Palestine were not "sovereign" in the sense that there was never a Palestinian government. Before 1948 it was the run by the British, and before that the Turks. After 1948 the West Bank was ruled by Jordan and Gaza was ruled by Egypt. The Arabs started demanding sovereignty only after Israel came into being. The Arabs could not care less about the Palestinians. They just feel humiliated that the Jews have sovereignty in a (TINY) part of the middle east.

  • Separation barriers and checkpoints are necessary for Israel's security. Without them, should Israel leave the West Bank and give the Arabs free access to Israel many innocent people would die from terrorist attacks in Israel. Israel apparently believes that it is better to oppress than be killed. This sucks for Palestinians, but they will continue to suffer as long as Israel has the need to defend itself.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the oppressor". 1920s - 1967 Palestinians and other Arabs commit acts of violence against Israel. In 1967 Israel was thus forced to occupy Palestinian territory. Israel offers to end the occupation if the violence stops. Palestinians continue the violence. Palestinian leadership does nothing to stop this. Israel is forced to do the job. If the Palestinian leadership would do the job Israel would be very happy. What would YOU suggest Israel do?

Recently Israel offered the Palestinians a capital in Jerusalem, 100% of Gaza and 95% of the West Bank (making up the remaining 5% with land from Sinai). The Palestinians turned it down. Israel moved out of Gaza and the Palestinians continue firing rockets from there. Israel moved out of Lebanon and Hizbullah continues its aggression. Based on this record, you believe that the Arabs have any interest in peace???

Hamas (with popular Palestinian support) and other Palestinian leaders do not wish Israel to exist, period, and it has nothing to do with oppression. All parties involved (including the Saudis) have stated that if the Palestinian leadership wanted peace, an agreement would have been reached at Camp David with Clinton, Barak and Arafat.

    The Palestinians were offered 95% of the West Bank (with the remaining 5% being made up from the Sinai) all of East Jerusalem including the Temple Mount. The Palestinians rejected this offer WITHOUT ANY COUNTERDEMANDS. The Palestinians so far have shown no interest in a political solution. Stop blaming Israel.

  • The problems started when the ARABS started the war in 1948, which war had nothing to do with Israel stealing land and everything to do with the Arab feelings of humiliation by the fact of a Jewish country in the Middle East.

The partition in 1947 awarded a bit over half of Palestine to the Jews for the creation of Israel; that portion was majority Jewish; the other half went to the Arabs for the purpose of creating a country of Palestine. The Jews acepted partition and started a country. The Arabs rejected it, started a war with Israel, and got screwed.

We know that the partition was UNFAIR for the palestinian especially when the UN itself was controlled by the jews. Its the same as the 9/11.   • Do you doubt that Islamist Extremists flew airplanes into the World Trade Center? There were many eyewitnesses, and cockpit recordings. I do not know anything about wtc 7. I understand that Popular Mechanics did an article on this. But doesn't it seem like a bit of a stretch to fly FOUR airplanes into buildings in NY and Washington for the sole purpose of covering up an explosion? I would just blow up that building and claim it was done by terrorists.

The articles there have many many sources. Nothing I have stated about the history of the Palestinians and Palestine is controverted or controversial. Everyone agrees with all of these facts.

  • ever heard of "self-determination". there is no issue of a nation having to break into seperate states, only an issue of a nation trying to exapnd beyond its legal borders and grab land that does not belong to them. this is not about the Saudis, only israel; which is legally required to withdraw to pre-67 lands. the palestinians have continually offered peace for nothing more than what is their legal right and have continually been rejected by US/israel diplomatic efforts.

  • Trading with nations is one of the best ways to improve relations amongst leaders. Don't know how effective it will be in a place where there is no peace yet, but the financial benefits will surely help.

  • I agree that trading with each other might lessen the hostilities. Economics is one of the reasons for war! Sure hope this works to bring up the West Banks economics!
