We were playing the game just fine, it was jolted a bit a few weeks back but we never removed the disk, it played fine until we tried to switch games, then it got stuck trying to eject. We have the fat original 80g type of ps3. I'll try to post a video response later tonight if your interested in helping troubleshoot

I have a question about resetting the side mechanism that lifts the tray up and down. I've reset my black brackets as showed in 6:40 so that no teeth are engaged, from this point if you move one side the other should move as well. Mine seems a bit sticky and if i move the right bracket, the left with the teeth does not move along with it. At this point, with everything assembled, it will accept and eject the disk which it didn't before but doesn't seem to start the spin and reading part.

@mtheaded77 the disk won't spin if the lens is faulty. You mechanism was probably thrown out by the lens failure.

Thanks for this video!!!!! Fixed my YLOD myself but my disc drive wouldn't take a disc. Screwed around with it and this video helped me reset it and it works great now. Thanks!

Just did a reflow on my ps3 and was scared that i ruined the disc player removing a game. Followed the video step by step and started right up! GJ on the cog trick too! those motor wires look intimidating!
