  • My comment is Hi

  • Does it work with Reeds?

  • @CrappyCrowbar no, reeds won't pop off if they hit a celing or a wall.

  • @Woldfun Oh, ok thanks.

  • would it be possible to do a proper chime, which has the differant chime for each quarter of the hour?

  • In the new update, you can use dispensers to do this every 5 minutes exactly, as long as you load up the dispenser with blocks (With something that stacks 64, dirt is best option) 64x9 = 576 chimes that go off every 5 minutes on the dot (Or thereabouts)

  • ohhhhhh.

nice. can you put up an turotial???

  • How did you get your cactus to fall on the pad? I mimicked your design, but the cactus breaks off and disappears.

It will rarely hit the switch. How regular did your cactus powered clock actually activate?

  • @nephlyteferus

I used the glass blocks to surround the top of the cactus so the drop can only fall towards the pressure plate. It's possible some of the drops are destroyed either by bouncing off the glass and onto the cactus but, really, how often do you want the damn thing going off?

  • @Minecraftaddict u can make a doorbell wit that

  • I have two questions, maybe you can answer them. First is how far away does a person need to be to be able to hear a note block? It seems like you're down quite a few levels and can hear it well, but I've got something like this on the third floor and I can't hear it when I'm at ground level just outside. Second, how far away do you have to be from a cactus for it to grow? Maybe I can't hear it because my cactus isn't growing. I've got this on smp btw.

  • @cujothekitten

According to the wiki, you can hear them from 48 blocks away. I couldn't find the answer to the second question, but I suspect its like trees which won't grow unless you are nearby.

  • @Minecraftaddict Cactus can even grow if you are staning right next to it so thats not the problem....

  • Sweet, I made one, works fine

  • can you put up the notes for the chime?

  • @SeN927

In terms of clicks, it is: 10,6,8,1,pause,1,8,10,6

  • @Minecraftaddict Dude thank you!!!

  • i think they disappear after 5 minutes SOOOOO you could stack 4 t-flipflops to make a binary counter, and each time it hits 12, you could cause the clock to chime and the counter to reset, giving you an hour clock :D

  • @MrAdnan252

Cool, and I just invented a new compact t-flipflop design.

  • One question, how fast does cactus grow? I was wondering if one drops on the pad before the other one disappears making the signal constant and never reactivates.

  • A cactus block grows at a random speed. At certain intervals an integer value on the cactus increases a random amount. I can't remember the numbers off hand but I think it grows between 1-3 per interval with 15 being the size at which it grows.

  • Good idea. I know drops disappear after 5 minutes (half a minecraft day, how good for the clock) but I think cacti grow/break off at random X(

  • fourth :c. im a bad person

  • dude can i ask you one thing y the gold pick plz answer me back

  • @mkroehnert1 Gold Picks are quicker at stone and stuff but have same durability as wood

  • @mkroehnert1 They are quicker than diamond, but he will edit the damage in invedit so it lasts forever :)

  • @gunthaz

Well, not forever... But I haven't used one up yet!

  • @mkroehnert1

What they said. The only thing I don't like about them is that sometimes they are too quick and I destroy more than what I wanted. :P

  • @Minecraftaddict Just play on SMP! All picks are nerfed, adding 5 tics before they actually start mining.

  • Neat :)

  • really neat....

  • Smart idea!
