  • I wish your family all the very best.

  • Hi, I really hope you're son's health has been assessed by a medical professional . I'm sure it has since it was a very long time since this was posted. I have first hand experience/knowledge of IS and subsequent seizure types. My thoughts were that something unusual was happening to your son at the time of this video. I would urge worried parents to contact a professional medical specialist and take a video to them rather than posting a video on you tube. Seek medical advice FIRST

  • Baby Tristan doesn't seem to be having any usual spasms characteristic of seizures. Just seems to be stimulated by the tunes. I think he will be fine. Best wishes.

  • i commend you for posting this. im shocked by some of the insensitive comments. You are reaching out to other scared moms and dads whose children are exhibiting similar symptoms. It is comforting to see that you are not alone if this, in fact , is infantile syndrome. Certainly you would find comfort also in knowing there is support for you but even more important, is the need to educate us. thank you for sharing this and I wish your baby and your family the best.

  • How is your lttle boy now? Our baby boy does this since he was born, he is now 13months old and no better. He has all tests and come back negative, please can you help us?

  • he might be constipated

  • Hello - just wondering if you ever got any answers from the doctor about your son in this video? My son (6 months) does the same thing and has since birth pretty much, we have been to the doctor but got no answers back yet other then to just keep watching him and see if it gets worse.

  • Your just sitting there watching him you should take him to the doctor.

  • @rachelgregory13 the doctors will tell you to video tape them doing to diagnose. spasms come in spurts by the time they got to the doctor they would have stopped. they actually did the right thing. plese dont judge someones parenting before you have all the facts

  • Did you ever figure out if this is something serious?

  • Not to be rude.. why are asking for opinons from off YouTube? take the baby to the doctors and they can keep him/her for observation to see if they are. Your putting them at risk IF something is really wrong

  • It doesnt look right to me and i have epilepsy. However altough i could be wrong, children are often smarter than we give credit for. Baby are you okay? - The little girl can obviously see something is not quite right.

  • No, I think that's just a baby wriggling his limbs like babies do.

    But that's just my opinion.

  • Ya to me that just does not look right. Some kind of mild seizure activity is going on I think.

    Just my opinion though.

  • My son now in his mid-teen with spastic-quad. At 5 month, he was diagnosis with infantile spasms, tested with EEG, came out negative. Started early children therapy OT/ST/PT, didn't response well. Just B4 3, he started CE, spasms went away, because he had better control of his muscle through-out his body. I believe it is due to active training of normal functional movements. Good Luck, cute baby.

  • has he been tested for juvinile myoclonic seizures??? take him to get an eeg. also when he is having those make sure that he's on his side

  • What ended up happening? I don't know about pediatric seizures, but that looks just like a grand mal or tonic/clonic. Has he been to a neurologist yet? If no, please take him and show the doctor this video!

  • O, just saw your page - so glad you got a diagnosis!

  • Where did you see the diagnosis?? What does he have?

  • If you look at her profile page, you can see that he's been diagnosed with West Syndrome.

  • Possibly, but you should talk to Tristan's docter to make sure and that little girl is soooooooo sweet. ("baby are you okay?")

  • i don't think so. i believe infantile spasms are more rapid in succession

  • Aww his sister is so sweet with the 'baby are you okay?'

  • Our 10mo daughter Elizabeth is doing exactly the same things as Tristan does. It also has started from her birth and happens on day by day basis. She doesn't have any delays in her development. Do you have any update? We would really appreciate your answer.

  • My daughter started the same behaviour at 3.5 months and is now a year old. She isn't delayed either. Although the episodes have worsened. There are days she does it all day long. the stiffening lasts longer than on this video and she work up a sweat. EEG came back negative and the Neurologist says its nothing to worry about - self stimulations.

i'm not happy because she seems so uncomfortable but not sure what else to do.

  • When my younger brother was an infant he did the same thing. He would make these noises as if he was clearning his throat, he ended up having severe indoor and outdoor allergies. The first action my parents took was they tore up all carpeting in the house and put a de-humidifyer in the basement, then ate all organic products, and started using all unscented products. see if that helps?

  • a sure way to find out is to take his temperature. if he has a fever before this happens you might want to talk to a pediatrician.

  • are his eyes affected? IS spasms can cause the eyes to cross and the child appears to stare - watch some of the other videos on IS-I would have him tested - early diagnosis is vital

  • Has he had an EEG? If so and it was normal, chances are it's not IS since IS shows a very specific pattern that is constant, not just during episodes. He definitely seems to have some myoclonic jerks of the legs though. My DS had this as well (in addition to delayed development) and we were very concerned but they finally resolved. Is your little one meeting his milestones? What do the drs. say is going on? Have they seen the episodes?

  • he deff. doesnt seem to be fighting sleep like you said in the video.

    his sister is sweeet though!
