In the extreme side of underground bboying, I've heard some consider any battle outside a cypher situation to be less than real. I assume this is a small minority. On the commercial, you see the Koreans sometimes using a new point-based system or limiting judges to 1 element to judge. This is pushing hard for an Olympics-type event and I hope it doesn't catch on.
