  • I thought it was a a fire extingusher they bunged in! where did the flames come from! electric oven or fire encourager

  • LOL I can actually see the individual pixels

  • 4 people read the instruction manual

  • I wonder why so many major tv-stations or show, has so rubbish quality on their youtube videos?

  • @Dajova This isn't the official site of the show or the station, but rather of a fan group.

  • Is it a good idea to ovenave this?

  • they turnt that into a fire starter

  • Why would the oven catch on fire? there's not enough plastic in there; and everything else should be metal. Since it's electric, there should be no gas. And carbon dioxide shouldnt catch on fire;

  • @VestriDeusEstMortuus preassureised??

  • @bacontizer

The pressure from the heated compressed CO2 would just make a big explosion and at most a small shockwave, but no fire. The explosion would be from the escaping gas, there would be flying shrapnel and stuff from the CO2 extinguisher, but nothing else.

  • @VestriDeusEstMortuus Pressurised gas which is present in the extinguisher is enough to cause it to explode, since obviously the high pressure will escape to the low pressure. The heat from the oven causes the pressure to be higher, so high it causes the extinguisher to explode. I hope that answers your question :P.

  • Do Not

    Try This

    At home!

Seriously, you don't need to sleep under the freeway overpass!

  • Quality is a bit shit.

  • what do u know

  • who is so stupid to put a fire extinguisher in the oven???

  • You can totally fuckin tell that it wasn't an explosion caused by the extinguisher... There are two explosion.

  • '"NO WARNING ON THE OVEN EITHER'

    lol,isnt that common sense?

    -.-

  • metals sorry not metaks

  • ahh u ruined the fun of brainiac

oh and the alkaline metaks wasnt completely fake

someone blew up our school pool with one of those chemicals and by god it was a mess. seriously

  • Brainiac fakes everything, sadly.

  • omg i need a new oven what a waste

  • nice boom

wow i can't believe it was a fire EXTINGUISHER!!

    cool

  • 4 reasons why this is faked:

    1. CO2 puts out fires.

    2. The gas isn't flamable.

    3. If the cylinder would burst, you would see a condensed water vapour cloud, because of the temperature of the gas.

    4. It's faked, like most of the other things they do. (Especially alkali metals and santa claus in the chimney.)

If you don't believe me, search for periodicvideos and their videos about Cesium and Rubidium. They put an equal ammount of the metals in water, and it pops.... That prooves it!

  • still looks epic

  • the fire extinguisherwasnt put into the oven under 0 oxygen levels. after the oven exploded, the fire can burn using atmospheric oxygen. CO2 does not produce water. Alkali metals can explode in water. depends very much on quantity of alkali metal added.

  • CO2 doesn't produce water, that's right, but the temperature of the gas causes the water in the air to condense, and to form a foggy cloud.

Indeed alkali metals can explode, but those quantities they used makes a little pop. It would require about 100g pure cesium to even get close, wich would cost about 100 000$, so that would blow the budget.......

    Anyway IT'S FAKED!!!!!!!!

  • BTW there is always a safety relëase valve to alow the gas to escape if the pressure gets too high...

  • you seem bent on the fact that its faked. have you tried it before?

  • No, I'm not stupid... By using common sense and knowledge I can tell that almost every part of this is faked... And just one more thing to ensure everybody that this is FAKE, IF the CO2 canister WOULD (wich isn't going to happen), the whole oven would be gone...

  • So, how was it faked?

  • Simply by putting a small explosive charge with some titanium powder (for the sparks), and some gasoline for the fireball and for the oven to apear burning afterwards... (I'm quite pyro freak, so I've made some Hollywood style explosions before..=P)

  • I agree the alkaline metals episode was faked, but this could've been true. Normally, there is a safety release valve, but what if they removed it? Thats not fake, thats just cheating a bit. Also, don't you think the propane used to heat the oven would create a good deal of a fireball? You may be right that they did use a petrol/gasoline explosion, plus a fine metal powder, such as aluminum or titanium, but it's also possible that it wasnt faked.

  • This was an electrically powered oven. They simply can´t produce the heat...

BTW what kind of explosions isn´t faked by brainiac... Whatever the explosive used, they always put gasoline in there...

  • True, and true. I didn't realize that it was a electric oven. Sorry.

  • the alkaline metals were'nt fake. they are actually that reactive

  • They admitted they were fake! you cant believe everything you fucking see. if you know anything about chemistry, a couple grams of rubidium or cesium cant make an explosion that big!

  • it does! I learnt at school!

  • @Celeb132 the alkaline metals WERE faked. you dont use rubidium or cesium in school.

  • try this at home:P

  • lol

  • he said the manual says not tamper with fire extinguishers in any way, im sure putting it inside an oven is tampering with it a little, so it goes past all this stands for really

  • man that's blurry

  • This is like trying to fuse Mythbusters with "Is it a good idea to microwave this?", with an added bonus of seeing a huge explosion that would never happen with fire extinguishers if they weren't rigged with high explosives beforehand...

  • pretty sure that a fire extinshisher is not going to explode and then a big ball of fire

unless it wall filled with gasoline

but then wat good would it be in putting out fire

seems faked with a explosive inside

and thats a dry chem one, should be lots of powder everywhere

    and co2 has pressure release

    just leaks out slowly

  • this is fake like a lot of brainiacs(even though i love em)

  • it's not a fake fool!

  • Fire extinguishers are constructed so that--unless tampered with--they will vent rather than explode. Were they not so designed, they would pose a danger to rescue personnel in case of a fire.

  • thats a weird looking oven. is that what they look like over in europe?

  • A good video, but -like a lot of Braniac - it's faked. A cylinder of CO2 would rupture if oveheated, but there would be no fire: see videos on youtube of "co2 bombs" for an example. In addition, co2 extinguishers have a pressure-release disk, venting to the rear of the operating levers, that yould let the pressure escape before the unit got to bursing point.

  • couturefruityy96: look up satire.

  • Ouh dear they spend sooo much on just 1 experiment.. JUST FOR US! :D:D:D:D

  • the explosion is so big that the "Do Not Try This At Home" sign can't be seen by the viewers.

  • FAIL!

  • no zat waz an EPIC PHAIL

  • ever heard of america?

  • Okay, thank you
