This was confusing to me. The way she explains it here made it sound to me like they wanted people to submit stories of their real life experiences, but the website says they want fictional stories. I guess I can't do mine, then, because while it's interesting as a real-life story, it wouldn't translate well to fiction.

Eh...romance stories. Not worth getting published, in my mind, especially since the setting is limited to near present day. I'd rather write about, you know, distopian societies, futuristic technology, fantasy with historically accurate melee combat and logically sound magical systems, or just raw philosophy. I can't imagine spending the amount of thought I put into my writing on a story solely about internet relationships...the idea just sounds absurd.

@Throrindor Honestly, I think writing about internet relationships would be a very interesting book if done correctly! There are a lot of psychological and emotional things about holding a long-distance relationship over the internet that are incredibly different from real-life relationships. So yeah...

I completely agree with you about how people still think its weird about meeting people online. I had to edit a girls paper today about the effects of technology on children and one of her arguments was that technology creates a barrier between two people and they cannot truly interact online, only when they are physically together. I guess I just live in my little internet filled bubble but I was shocked that someone my age did not believe that the internet could be beneficial to friendships.

@LoveAndHearts0 Now I'm not a grammer Nazi, and judging by the amount of likes your comment has received quite a few people agree with you, however I, as a native English speaker, find "Haley or I" sounds more intuitive than "Haley or me". This being the internet I did some hasty research and found that "I" is used in cases where the speaker is performing in the sentence. Since Kristina is passive in receiving email I suppose "me" would be considered the correct usage. Both work.
