  • The bass player/singer is a clone of my ex-girlfriend. Cute.

  • love!

  • Perfect !

  • dig this a lot. thanks for this!

  • Damn. How obscure can a group get? Youtube, source of joy and goddamn hair pulling exasperation.

  • @Khultan another good band in the same vein as these gals was "girls at our best" check them out if you havent before....

  • the box set is awesome

  • @sbutl014 BOX SET?!?!

  • @diskochimp yep its self released, its called "everything and more"

  • Thank you for posting this. One for the old Dolly Rockers. Saw them at The Wooden Bridge in Guildford and they were fantastic.

  • Nice Video. I live in the States and this video was my intro to the band. Having only heard of this band in passing, I recently purchased a copy of their 3-CD Box-Set "Everything and More" after seeing this. Great Music! Thanks for uploading this video.

  • They're adorable!

  • Effing brilliant!

  • You are all fucking wierd! Get a Life!

  • compilation album coming out July 5th,check band website and Rough Trade shop!

  • A tight performance indeed, but a commercial hit eluded them. I remember them more for the sensible years and i don't knock it. always liked debsey, so ahead of her time back then...Glad its all over? I'm not...

  • Thanks for sharing this precious video!

  • Is the whole live concert (or at least some more songs) available anywhere? Fantastic song and great video - thanks for posting!!

  • Thanks that was pretty decent!

  • They wre only on Top of The Pops as backing singers for Sensible.

  • what might have spoiled it for them was backing captain sensible on happy talk

  • No, Sensible was very much part of the family. Happy Talk got to #1 the day of a Dollys gig at the Marquee. Sensible could not remember the words so two of us had to write them out. We took the piss sometimes but all the Dolly's fans got on with him.

  • i meant as in how they might have been perceived by people who would only have known them from totp

  • @227Grim -didnt the captain marry one of em

  • @1960unclemort - He has a long-term de facto relationship with Rachel Bor (the guitarist). I believe they had 3 kids.

  • this rocks

  • this is great!

  • There's a film about them at The Barbican tomorrow.

  • Am gutted that I can't attend- Lets hope that it comes out on DVD and that someone films the Q+A session and posts it on here.

  • I think it is coming out on DVD. Not sure if the Q&A is being filmed.

  • I have recently been in touch with one of DM,and she said there is a DVD coming out but is not sure when!

  • Wish i'd looked back here before it was on....

I would have gone.....only live 5 minutes up the road from The Barbican :(

  • sigh...i want them ...

  • amazing. One of Cambridge's best bands.

  • I have a demo album from dolly mixture...all white jacket, 2 vinyl discs, signed by all three, with hand-written notes. I bought it in Huntington Beach (Surf City), California, circa 1985 (I think...it was a long time ago)

  • Can almost taste those beery nights down the great northern in station road...

  • thanxxx :)

  • Yes, this is marvelous stuff. Saw them play live many times in the 80's. Isn't it about time someone rereleased their album again on cd in the near future!? Anyone got any footage of Debsey's other band ,Coming up Roses?

  • I played a gig with them once and nearly got a date with the drummer, classic stuff!!!

  • classic

  • If they did a reunion show on Mars, I would walk there to see it! I love this band so much!!!

  • Mods in London really liked them !

  • This is a classic....!

I heard a demo/live tape of a later band Rachel Bor was in (I think they were called Fruit Machine) which was seriously good...fantastic harmonies as i remember...!

  • Thanks for posting this. The Demonstration Tapes double LP and all 4 45s are all so amazing. But I've never seen any videos. This has made my week.

  • Greatest band ever. I wish they had made it to America!

If they got back together, I'll fly anywhere in the world to see them.

  • Thanks for uploading this....Brilliant Band.

Used to go and see them all the time.....great nights down the marquee(wardour st) , clarendon and fulham greyhound...with The Gymslips supporting.

  • Our paths must have crossed at these venues... saw them many times. Top band

  • This is great...I wish there more of these gals on YouTube...or the web for that matter. They are a mystery to people here in the States. I know 'em from Captain.

  • great video, the close-up shots are so brill, makes it honest, seldom seen nowadyas

  • Gold!

  • Thanks for posting this video! What a GEM!

  • Shame they never made the big time in their own right even though they found fame as captain sensible's backing group..Forget Bananarama and the spice girls these were the best and original british girl group..

  • brilliant, saw them many times Clarendon, Hope & Anchor, best of all supirting The Undertones at Cardiff Top Rank May 1980. Would bring a tear to a glass eye...

  • Good band. Stuff's not in print today is it?

  • doly mixture rule

    god bless the girls

  • not forgotten by me! THANK YOU for posting this!!

  • so underrated its criminal

  • Thanks for posting this, i believe the records are being re-released on CD soon. Is there a video for 'Everything and More'?
