I have seen many videos of North Korean women singing Korean folk songs, playing the kayagum and dressed in hanbok. Unfortunately, I cannot understand Korean language or read Hangul, or else it would be interesting to listen to the old Korean language being spoken.

South Korean has had the full impact of globalism, (that's what you get when the US supports your country) and they've accepted a lot of the western customs and values.. things are so competitive there with education and the urban areas that sometimes I cannot recognize the country and its quickly changing society even in a couple of years.

I have read a lot abt Korean War & until today, the peace treaty has yet to be signed & Korea still divided at the ceasefire line.
I personally don't believe modern North Korea is a threat to anyone. Kim Jong Il was instrumental in developing closer ties with South Korea compared to his father, and economic union would have been possible. However, the US got upset & pressured the current South Korean President to adopt a hardline position against Kim over its right to harness nuclear energy.
Both Koreas have the potential for a reunion, but the problem is that the United States always sticks its nose into other nations business which means a reunion can only happen without the involvement of the US.
