  • how the heck did they blow it up its all metal and iron

  • The bridge has not been rebuilt since?

  • True Heroes! Never be forgotten! Never Bettered!

  • My father crossed the bridge. He was in the 311th infantry, 78th division.

  • A good friend of mine, Irving, was the second man across the bridge and into germany. Irving now lives in Florida and his luck is still holding, several years ago he won the florida state lottery.

  • my grampa foght on that bridge for the germans

  • My grandfather crossed this bridge, Wayne Yelton, heavy machinegunner

  • My Grandfather was a Lieutenant commanding a tank squadron, same bridge. Scott S. Benson.

  • I salute your grandfather. He is a true hero.America needs these type of people now.

  • I am trying to find connections for my grandfather. He drove an armored car with a jeep windshield on it. They had him drive across the bridge and back to test its strength after a tank fell through and the engineers had to repair it. C. McMullin was his name. 9th armored division.

  • @microbioguy74

My father, Stanley (Tanner) Waluck, 9th armored division, Sergeant, drove first Pershing tank to overlook the bridge. Refered to the movie as "my movie".

  • I think it is moving to see enemies of past being able to mourn !

  • My husband and I visited this bridge in 2005 with a WWII Memorial Tour. My father was an Engineer who died here on March 17, 1945 when the bridge collapsed. We also visited his grave in Luxembourg. I was only 19 months old when he was killed and so I never got to know him. I wish I had.

  • I love how the German army still uses the same collor tabs or whatever they are.

  • There might another bridge to cross the river nearby since this one is only used as museum and war memorial

  • My folks have a house in Remagen and have a beautiful view of the river and it's a 10 minute walk from our house to the bridge. The local kids hang out at the bridge since there's no where else to hang in a small town.

  • i went past the bridge on a boat one time and my brother told me the story behind it..it was quite a story!!

  • I was nearby last week and did not go again - I regret it!

  • This bridge was built for war - the first - and now serves the needs of peace.

  • Yep. I was there working on it in 1989.
