  • Well I think its awesome that you guys had your cell phones...wish my daughter had hers when when was in basic

  • @mike whatever, shut up no one cares what you think.

  • THIS VIDEO AND THESE COMMENTS ARE EXACTY WHY THE ARMY IS PATHETIC. I KNOW WHEN I WENT TO BOOT CAMP AT MCRD SAN DIEGO WE NEVER HAD OUR PHONES, NOT EVEN DURING RECEIVING. THE ONLY FORM OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD WAS GOOD OLD FASHION SNAIL MAIL AND EVEN THEN WE ONLY HAD SUNDAY TO DO THAT. DRILL INSTRUCTORS NEVER TOOK A DAY OFF, AND WE CERTAINLY WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD HAVING FUN LIKE THIS. F***ING GARBAGE

  • well our phones was EARNED not just given to us. some platoons were able to get their phones for about an hour or two every sunday but we can't, our DS didnt let us coz we have to earn it..

    -Ft. Benning

  • hahahahahahaha I wish we had our phones at all in bootcamp

    pussies

  • Damn back in 07' we made maybe 4 calls during all of basic. And if our DS had it his way we would of made zero phone calls the whole time. Half hour phone calls on sunday, WITH your cell phone must be nice. We had to buy cards and use the pay phones and had 5 minutes I think. Crazy shit.

  • ft sill aka america's asshole

  • haha i know basic at fort benning we were lucky to even get to call on the weekends and if we did we only got 5 minutes.

  • a half hour???? i only got to make a 2 minute phone call once every two weeks... on the pay phones at A 1/79 3rd PLT Mad Dogs...pussies

  • @TheCotypeace I was A 1/79 1st and it was the same for me.

  • i leave in 9 days for fort jackson basic...

  • ok, for all of you who are wondering why we have our phones in reception, this is why. this was columbus day and the drill sergeants had the day off except to get us to the defac for meals. so because they had the day off they let us have our phones and cameras and hang out in the barracks for the day. we didn't get our cameras back til graduation and we had half hour phone calls with our cell phones on sundays and that was it.

  • @schultzE7 i just graduated bct at ft sill. we didnt have to turn our phones in while we were at 95th. when we got across the tracks we turned them into the drill sergeants. they let us have them on sundays for a few hours and then we didnt get them back til the night before family day

  • @schultzE7 btw C1/79 1st plt HEADHUNTERS!!!!

  • @schultzE7 is this the u.s army or rangers?

  • @RAYSONIC511 i think it's boy scouts

  • @Jaysun325 wtf

  • @schultzE7 Half hour calls on sunday, THAT'S it??? you poor guys

  • @schultzE7 is their really any difference in how hard basic is at each fort?

  • it must be nice having a phone during basic training... But than again i was trained properly and actually had the things taught to me in boot camp stick for my time in the fleet. Making a phone call before graduation usually meant you either EARNED it or you were a pussy and cried to the senior that you miss your mommy. But those of us who didn't stuck to regular mail which when received meant more than maybe a 5 minute phone call. The Army is becoming more and more pathetic nowadays

  • @Sirmovesalot17 Because it is clear that having your cellphone in reception means you're improperly trained. Your logic is clear.

  • I guess it was up to each platoon or battery...i was there in 2007 and they kept our cell phones locked away with our personal gear until graduation day....well really after we got back to the bay after graduation.

  • I got a phone card and 5 minutes to call home before basic started. only other time i got to use phone was when my brother was shot in the head and i got to call home to talk to my mother for 5 minutes, other than that, snail mail, and no time to screw around with dancing.

  • I smell smoke... haha

  • Cell phones?

There seems to have been a great surge in pussification since I went through Fort Sill, and that was back in 2007.

  • this was in reception, not during actual basic. we could only have them out a half our on sundays was all.

  • @schultzE7

dude, I had to use a phone card and the payphone at reception.

but what ever, welcome to the army.

  • @TheGreenSmoke A lot of DS give cellphones back for limited time on the weekend instead of making a Soldier waste his paycheck on an overpriced phone card and wasting time waiting in line for a payphone (that means more time to clean the barracks, lol).

  • @powerserj1

cellphones are creature comforts not needed to mold young men into effective war fighters. I had to buy a phone card and did not complain, because I had a paycheck every month and that allowed me to call home around once a week.

if a trainee does not want to buy a phone card, then don't use the phones or borrow a friend's (I despise the word "battle buddy", it sounds gay).

  • @TheGreenSmoke Cellphones were used the same way payphones were used with the same amount of time given to those Soldiers that\ had to use payphones. Neither cellphones nor payphones mold effective war fighters. There is no difference between cellphones and payphones. You are not "harder" because you used a payphone. It's the same damn thing. The only reason phones are allowed once in a while is for something called "mental health."

  • @powerserj1

payphones are something young recruits are not used to. the point of basic training is to take away everything that the recruit is used to, break him down and reassemble him as a fit fighting machine. using a cellphone does not aid in the breaking down process of an individual. I remember the discipline it took to stand at parade rest in line on a Sunday afternoon waiting for my turn to use the payphone for 5 minutes.

  • oh shut the fuck up. Everyone who goes through BCT swears it got easier the day they graduated. Its all BS.

  • dude! the DS smoked my friend so hard, he died!!11one

  • lol ya right. Even if he did die he should have stopped doing the drill and let them know he needed medical.

  • @TheGreenSmoke they have cell phones.... wtf O_o

  • @TheGreenSmoke I did basic there in 99. I totally agree. Did they stop issuing black boots or something too?

I remember getting yelled at for doing pushups in reception when we got bored once...the punishment? Pushups! Fun times getting dropped lol

    Hope you had fun there!

  • @TheGreenSmoke Haha, no kidding. Must be the Army. Marines would never give you 5 minutes to stand around and act like idiots. I know from experience.

  • @chrislgrooms then tell me why there is a marine video of them in bct doint the same thing your fucking pog

  • @chrislgrooms *branch correcting my spell mistakes from my prev. message

  • @TheGreenSmoke i know right? I went to Benning. that shit sucked big time...

  • how long can we have our phones there in reception?

  • we could use them for an hour before lights out everyday, but in actual training we had them for half an hour on sundays was all.

  • ah alright cool

  • hey, i leave for fort sill on the 13th of this month we can bring our cell phones? will they tell us to put them in the amesty room or something? do i tell them i got it, or like keep it in my bag? thanks!

  • yeah you can bring them, they'll let you use them during personal time in reception, but in actual basic we only got them for a half hour on sundays was all.

  • @schultzE7 when i was in reception and basic training , no cell phones . check out my army vids bro. Go ARMY!
