Do I need counseling?

  • How do you deal with a mom that sighns you up for counceling without your knowledge , o.o .............. nothings wrong with me c:

  • i love to listen this but i have a problem so i would like to talk to you by webcam in msn

  • ive had the same counselor for 3 years now twice a week i visit her and whe knows me real good...my psychiatrist is cool too... ive had 5 of those in the past 3 years but they all use the records so there is no confusion... ive got ptsd and traumatic brain injury and ive had it since the first gulf war... they both say since ive had it so long that it is uncurable... what do you thinki???im on lots of meds and they do work but i just want to know,,, is there a cure???

  • Is a mess, the saddest part? I'm only 13!!! Please help!!!!! (continued)

  • I need a counselor, but only I know it, I don't have a crush, don't have a favorite color, shirt, food, friend, class, subject, day, song, game, singer, band, and to top it all of, my life feels like a blur, I spend my time daydreaming, I'm failing nearly all my classes, and I cry... Daily! I'm bullied by some girls in my grade, and I'm not at all sure what's going on in my life! I told off this one kid who asked me out last year a few days ago cuz he was telling people I asked him out! My life

  • I'm in college and doing just fine.

  • When I was 16 years old, I met with a councilor every tuesday and thursday because I was a victim of abuse by my teachers at my previous high school. I had barely learned to walk as well, so being at a new school, and walking made my councilor feel that I was doing well. A month after it was confirmed that I was doing fine, my girlfriend was killed by a drunk driver. I almost committed suicide. I became mute to my councilor and worked it out in my mind. I'm 19 now, and I feel no more stress...

  • your only counselor is the Bible everything is there. everyone has been emotional abuse because who telling you your parents are right they teach you what is right dependns what is it the reall true to them. Everything is so complicated

  • Very good video, I can see how very useful this is for clients who are considering to see a counsellor.

  • You have done a good job explaining it in a short, sweet and informative way. I am a life coach and how I explain what I do is pretty similar. Goodl uck with your practice.

  • I have just recently started counselling (1 session to be precise) and to be honest I don't think I have ever done anything as scary in my life! I am really dreading my next session, you see I worry obsessively about what other people think about me (weirdly, more so strangers) and I am afraid to open up the way I really need to because I don't know what the counsellor will think of me! I know they aren't suppose to judge, etc but I just can't help feeling paranoid and anxious! I sound stupid!:(

  • @ExplorerBrock aripiprazole helped me with my paranoia.. now i just talk away to her like shes an old friend... i know they arent supposed to be your friends but eventually you will feel like she is and you will talk without a problem...

  • @93CFD Hi, thanks! Unfortunately 8 months later and I'm still the same! But its a work in progress! I suppose I have problems with trust and everything else a 'not so good' childhood can bring about! But session at a time right! Never heard of the aripiprazole...but I think I'll stick with what I'm doing! Need to share feelings with someone at some point with intervention of some sort! Glad it worked for you!

  • ok I'm about to apply to graduate school to become a School counselor ... i was wondering if you have any information on them... Also do things ppl say ever get to you or bug you... like how do you not take things home with you.

  • @NetteFraulein Good luck with your studies! School counseling is an admirable profession. I would encourage you to interview those already working in that field to get a better idea if it's a good fit for you. In regards to staying positive while helping others, it's possible by listening to their stories and searching for opportunities to change, shift, or refocusing on solutions.

  • very helpful and good points! im currently going to take a few counseling sessions(cant help other people with their issues until you've taken care of your own first!) and im also going to college to become a counselor :) I think everyone needs counseling at some point or another in their life. soem need a lot of it, some just a few sessions :] ":]

  • Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm a graduate student reciving my Masters in Menatl Heath Counseling and I too have been subjected to the misuderstanding of what counseling entails! you brought up a valid point that definitely deserves to be addressed

  • i want to be a mental health counselor but i still have many questions about it.

  • i have a problem that affects me everyday but im too scared ti admit it, do i need counseling

  • Thanks for your question. Counseling may be helpful to you if your situation is negatively affecting your life. The professional relationship creates a safe, supportive, and confidential environment in which to share and explore healthy options. You don't have to live every day with an emotional burden.

  • Just to share with you : in the UK it's called Counselling , we spell it differently ....

  • Thanks!

  • WOW! Thankyou i needed to know. Many counselors who say they are counselors are just nuts and are not professionally trained in anyway.
