  • It's hard to believe this live...

...oh, who am I kidding? I've seen them live before, and they're always equally (or more) amazing live. It's rare when that can be said about a band. Unless that band happens to be Iron F'king Maiden. ;-)

  • I ordered this album and it arrived today, listened to it start to finish, although the songs are really long it is an amazing album!

  • Seeing Maiden live is a divine experience. Those 3 glorious guitars in unison. What more can you say.

  • Amazing record. Incredible song

  • Brilliant album

  • Bruce Dickinson is the greatest singer o fall time

  • Such a freakin EPIC album!!! UP THE IRONS FROM N.C.!

  • That red bass is pure sex.

  • Man this song really moves me, I saw these guys in High School in the mid eighties, and now 25 years later they are just as good if not better, how many bands can say that?.....Good on ya Iron Maiden, Bruce still has the Best Pipes in Metal, what a talent, Highest respect to all who Love God.

  • Amazing song. Up the irons. WELCOME TO CROATIA LAND OF GOOD SHOW.

  • what a band and a new world tour coming with the final frontier. hey what have maiden done for us everything i can ask for nobody to touch em toby

  • AMOLAD has to be one of my fav iron maiden albums, it was the first album i listened to. Just a purely amazing song

  • 4:15 <3

  • i was there....:)

  • Iron Maiden has entered the HISTORY of Music as an Icon of Metal.

  • I have listened to this song more than 100 times still love it so much, so powerful and meaningful. to kill in the name of god and have very little understandnig of humans............im so drunk as well..............life is so enjoyable.

  • I'd give anything to see this live, favourite Maiden song from my favourite album :)

  • they didn't need to record final frontier a matter of life and death will last forever.

  • @danielhall65 they need a reason to go on a tour ;) :D

  • @WrathchildNH, totally agree, I'm economically conservative, but socially liberal, so I guess Im a liberatarian. But since when did politics turn into a money making fiasco. America will be doomed to communism if something doesn't change, and the nuclear warheads are the other problem. Just like they said with Brighter than a 1000 Suns, Hly Father, We Have Sinned. The Nukes let us play God, which is 100% Wrong. PERIOD.

  • i watched them twice in costa rica!!!!!!!

  • Steve Harris for the fuckin win!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Manso temazo locos!! Increible!!!

  • the whole liberal/conservative line in the sand is whats friggin the world up........not every fiscal conservative is out to fuck the world.....and a whole lot of liberals are only trying to further their OWN agendas...... to vote people into office blindly just because of party affiliations is absurb on both sides of the aisle......the left wing will F you in a heartbeat as soon as you disagree with them

  • Can't wait for their next album this summer!!!

  • The problem is.....after the must play songs...Wrathchild,Hallowed, # of the Beast, fear of the dark, Iron Maiden.....then 5 or so tunes of new material........there's onlt room for 4 or 5 songs to be mixed in....a couple being the greats...like sign of the cross.....ancient mariner........personally...I'd like to see 7th son and Paschendale once more live...or phantom of the opera

  • @WrathchildNH but on that tour they played the AMOLAD as their first set and then did hallowed, fear of the dark, evil that men do and iron maiden for the encore

  • not only does Steve write great lyrics....they prove to be timeless...........

  • Not that it's got anything to do with the music, but does anyone know their political vision. I know they've done quite a few songs about social injustice and the misery of war, but those don't really show their point of view.

  • @Fan666Maiden their political view is kind of personal don't you think? i doubt they would reveal that type of information in an interview, nor do i think the interviewer would think, or be permitted to ask. but in general i can only assume that their political stance is liberal, but then im no expert.

    whatever, im probably wrong

    Up the fucking Irons anyway

    respect from new zealand

  • they play this song...in shows they have to play the biggest hits...so they dont play this song very often

  • I would kill to see this live

  • @dmxco I HAVE

  • @CHARLIEREBEL68 lol, made me laugh :]

  • I seriously hope they play alot of new stuff at Sonisphere this year. I would cry out of happiness if Blood Brothers in played live. UP THE IRONS!!

  • they wont man they never play songs like that only the commercial songs unfortunatly .there is loads of songs i wanna ere them play live but they just wont.

  • @revan210 yeah blood brothers is one of their best! its the first song i ever heard of iron maiden!

  • @revan210 same :D

  • greatest band ever

  • video?? where can i find this concert??

  • This song still brings tears to my eyes...

"And all because of it you'd think

    that we would learn

But still the body count the city fires burn

    Somewhere there's someone dying

    in a foreign land

Meanwhile the world is crying stupidity of man

Tell me why, tell me why"

    Please tell me why...

  • Brilliant album AMOLAD ... every fucking song on it is an epic . I just love Maiden . Nothing more to say...

  • anyone know where to get the live version?

  • '99- hits tour, 01- mix tour, 03-hits tour/mix tour,05-hits tour, 06- new tour, 07-mix tour, 08/09- hits tour.... the one tour they played new songs you people give them shit. maybe you should have gone the other 29 years they were touring. bitching all the time...idiots.

  • It didn't suck you piece of shit. Fuck you.

  • Die you fucking wanker.

  • Win.

  • This tour was amazing!!! And this is probably one of the most important songs of all time.

Thousands of years worth of wars "for the greater good of (some) god" - and FINALLY, someone stopping to ask the world WHY!

    So, please tell my why!

  • fuck you poser

  • Is this number a rib from the special The Bringer Of War album? :O

  • Comment removed

  • No it's not. It's a lot like how 7th Son was written, a similar topic through out the album just not a strory.

  • Actually 7th Son is supposed to be a concept album

  • A concept album tells a story you dolt. Like Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche.

  • Not so much a concept album as having recurring concepts or themes throughout.

  • No and No

  • UP THE IRONS!!! FROM FINLAND!

  • Fantastic song, sound. ..They got me so!Long live Maiden!

  • has anyone noticed how the latest album is very God and religion influenced?

  • Yes. God appears in a few songs but in the album (assuming you mean A Matter of Life and Death) is quite religion-based.

I think it's very effective, making people question themselves, religious or not.

  • the album is more about the horrors of war. and this song is how religions devides mankind and is abused as a sick purpose for war.

ok, pilgrim, reincarnation and lord of light are mystical.

  • i find brighter than a thousand suns to be somewhat mystical aswell (and no, not because the first line mentions God...)

    and

  • yeah. Music is always that way. Even mathematical music like Bach.

I have read an interview with starpianist Kissin. He said something like that musicians have to be religious/mystical persons. I am not sure whether he really meant, that they have to be believers and not atheists. But you surely have to be very very convinced that those silly noises and sinuswaves of gas particles indeed mean something.

Sorry, I am having an intellectual hangover as I am an broken man.

  • i know... but i just thought that this particular album was more focused on God and religion than the others.

no prob... happen to the best of us. :P

  • Yeah but its basically pointing out the strengths and faults of religion, whether its hope for humanity or a war machine

  • true. so true.

  • Nah, it's pointing out the strengths and many weaknesses of the human race.

  • i love that

"they fire off many shots and many parting blows,

their actions beyond a reasoning only god would know,

and as he lies in heaven or it could be in hell,

i feel hes somewhere here or looking from below,

    BUT I DONT KNOW,

    I DONT KNOOOOOOOW"

  • UP THE IRONS! UP THE IRONS!

  • "Somewhere there's someone dying

    in a foreign land

Meanwhile the world is crying stupidity of man"

  • "FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF GOD"

  • PLEASE TELL ME NOW WHAT LIFE IS !

  • Nicko plays like a mad man. So old and still can play at full speed. :)

Love it when Maiden plays little quicker on live than on album

    UP THE IRONS

  • they play faster compared to the albums always. during the 80's (85-87 especially) they played so fast the vocals became jumbled, i like the current pace .. bruce is very clear.

  • Could be that, but a lot of the songs have more effect being played slower (e.g. Hallowed Be Thy Name and Fear of the Dark).

  • the tempo is what deside how the energy of the music is spoken, if a calm melody gets played too fast then it will sound rushy and the other way.

  • AMAZING!!!

The best song of the newest album =D !!

They should play this song ever.

  • MUCH AGREED!!!!

  • was hoping for an actual vid.

  • Steve Harris with a red bass? I don't recall that....

  • He actually does own it there is a picture in the live double album A Real Live One/Dead One. I wish he would use his old blue and gold one I like that one

  • his white one used to be the blue one, it says on the death on the road dvd
