  • The map of the house , I'm sure, is in the small room near the start of the game, think the room has lockers in it

  • The trick to getting across the moving platforms is to be moving forward BEFORE the platform has come to a stop. Especially for the faster ones.

Just be glad this game doesn't enforce the conservation of momentum :)

Florentine'e staff is okay. A fully-charged purple staff shot is still stronger, but Florentine's staff is fast to reload. And I think more effective against the bull monsters, but don't quote me on that.

  • Hmmm.... not really shore what the conservation of momentum would do, not huge on physics.

And what do you mean that Florentine's staff is fast to reload? Do you know how to reload it?!

  • When the platform stops you'll continue to fly forward. So you'd lose your balance and fall down. Thinking of it like standing on a cart that stops immediately on a bump; you'll go flying forward.

Um... no, you can't reload it as far as I know, sorry. I guess I meant the re-fire rate. And if I remember correctly the orb flies faster than most other spells.

  • well, at least you wouldn't have to worry about stepping off.

As for the staff, I think that fact that you can't reload it really hurts it's usefulness. I mean there are a lot of monsters in this game and it's not like the staff has heeps of ammo.

  • It has very limited use, I think that's its intent. When you're fighting that guy by the bridge near the end of the game, or some of the really huge, strong monsters you summon, Florentine's staff gets off really fast damage per second. Use it wisely, I suppose. If you need to, and chances are you won't as simply cycling through your rechargeable weapons are just as good, and faster.

  • Not much point to commenting after all this time but I LOVE this game so I wanna chip in my cents about the staff. It kills the final "boss" in two shots. No matter what difficulty you're on it kills that final monster faster than anything else. It's like the only thing I use it for.

  • Hay, no sweat, I'm glad you had a chance to play through this awesome game. A lot of people unfortunately missed out back in the day. As it only had a limited release and was up agenst games like Quake 1 and Duke Nukem 3D.

  • hey disthron how did you get this game to work on your pc? is there some sort of dos program i can use or some other installation program. please help me out cuz i want to play this game so bad. i played it when it first came out but i never completed it.

  • I used a program called DOSBox, it's a Dos emulator. It works really well. But make sure you read through the read me file that comes with it.

  • Well, I played the european version - german localization - and there was also no way to toggle combat difficulty. And I also remember the enemies being way harder than this!

For the map of the house: I am pretty sure that there was one. As a kid, I was really excited finding it. There are also two maps of the tower. Or was it two maps for the house? Damn, it´s so long ago...

  • So did it have german sub-titles or was it daubed? There are two maps of the tower. One that is "incomplete" and one that is "compleat" Thought the two aryas don't seem to be conected in any way.

I'm glad to hear that there is a map of Shole. As I remember that place being the caverns *2. Any way, we've got some pretty places to explore before we go down there.

  • The german version is translated completely. With new voiceovers. And, to be honest, I like the german voice of Adam more than the original. The english actor talks like "I don´t know what´s happening, but I will save my father!", and in german he talks like "you all p*ss me off, but I will save my father!" with a slight sarcasm in his voice ;)

  • lol about Aelf and the bad guys maybe he is in some scheme with them

  • It's also funny that Rebeca comments on how "his presence dusn't feel strong" and then he comments that she feels the power the curas has accumulated over the centuries.

So in all that time it's managed to build up a power that isn't very strong. ^_^

  • Oh fun. A impossible to recharge weapon. Are you the type that sandbags those things, or actually use them up pretty quickly?

  • If by "sandbag" you mean keep it for an emerjancy then yes. I don't like to wast things.
