  • most bike riders dont know the highway code, dont stop at traffic lights thats why they piss me off

  • another murderer in waiting

  • Ahhh, the Black People Carriers of Doom. Whenever I see one coming near I expect it to do absolutely anything at any moment. Turn across/into/over you whilst making clear eye contact? Standard. Sudden u-turns without indicating or even slowing down? Check. Drop your passengers off in to a busy cycle lane at a junction on green? No problem! I'm more wary of them than anything else in London, drunken late-night Soho pedestrians are easier to predict...

  • He could've waited.

  • @Scrabbler27

    Yes, I thought that too.

  • This happens in London to me about 100 times a day, I dont understand why some peple expect the city center to be like a country lane, people make mistakes but road rage is neve nice to see. All these cyclists who post these videos must have no problems or financial worries as they cycle in rush hour traffic to work, I assume, or maybe they come out just to put themselves in dangerous positions try to start confrontations and then head back home to pick up there benefits.

  • @howhardgerrard

It's not that I'm expecting a city street to be anything like a deserted country lane, it's more the fact that if I know a driver has seen me I want to know why they then feel it's ok to drive into my path when joining the main road I'm on, when they are supposed to yield to traffic already on the main road.

Cycling to work is a more reliable form of transport with less delays than the train and provides free exercise. There are more positives to cycling than you might think

  • @howhardgerrard no, matey, you obviously don't know the RULES of the road, which apply to cities AND country lanes. Either follow the law, or suffer the consequences. Not that the law is ever perfect, but if you don't like following the law, I'll come round and rob your house and say, "well you can't expect it to be like a quiet country lane with no poor robbers next door, can you?" Because showing a hypocrite up is worth it every time... but I'd swap it for better driving from those people.

  • @TVismyopiate "matey" (cringe) "follow the law or suffer the consequences" you reall are mad! and robbery in rural areas out numbers that in urban areas. You either need a girlfriend/boyfriend or maybe just a hug. I have never said this without being sarcastic but really, get a life.

  • You're sympathetic to people who make mistakes, but people in cars have a culture of mistakes against cyclists, as they aren't willing to pay enough attention against anything that isn't going to hurt them (they'd suddenly not make so many mistakes if it was a lorry coming I bet). If you can't drive to the required standard, then you have no right to drive, that's the point of the licensing system, Or it's YOU who should be claiming benefits and let someone who CAN, take the driving job, right?

  • @howhardgerrard Cyclists have fewer financial worries because we tend to have more spare cash. This is obviously because we're not giving away a good proportion of it away to oil company's & the government. In London we also earn more (pay more tax), are better educated, have better jobs, live longer, are fitter, therefore less on a drain on the NHS, much better looking even in lycra. This is maybe why motorists think we're arrogant. We're not, we really are better than you fat suburban plebs.

  • @zivkovicable "Cyclists have fewer financial worries" (lets face it youve pulled that statistic out of you arse) let just agree that because statistics are made up through numbers London will probably always come out top on things like better wages, education, gun crime and teenage pregnancy because of size, ( but since those last two contradict the first two lets not read too much into statistics) and this slimline urban man with an art history lives in Hoxton. And lycra is always a bad look.

  • You shouldn't weave in and out of traffic matey - you might get knocked off.

  • @xecompact

So, what sort of weaving did I do when the driver who saw me pulled out into my path? As for how the video finishes, I'm going to ride over Tower Bridge so I need to be in either lane 2 or 3. The LH lane (lane 1) turns left onto East Smithfield. All I'm doing is filtering through the traffic at this point, pretty standard stuff and hardly what I'd call weaving. But thanks for the concern anyway.

  • They do it because they think they are indestructable in their tin boxes/cars... the way they nonchalantly look over their shoulders and just pull out anyway... i used to get it when i had a motorcycle... every day... and even now when i ride my bike occasionally... they don't realise how dangerous it is!

  • @4crevis

Either they don't realise or they don't care. That must get to the lights driving style or the I'm bigger than you attitude.

  • @kmcyc It's probably that they don't care... because either way they aint gonna get hurt!

  • @4crevis so no wonder cyclists want to remind them that they can easily get hurt - by their fists (implying so by getting verbally-confrontational, I mean). I don't advocate violence, but pulling out in front of someone you've already seen is bullying, plain and simple. You know where that leads...

  • fjols

  • they dont provide taxi services, you cant use the word taxi we prefer the little people or private hire, please dont confuse with the licensed taxi whice they are not

  • @royalcollage

Apologies. Private hire then. Thanks for the correction.

  • @michaelkeefe91 Fair play it is your choice to use who you like,iv been driving 15 years in my taxi and I'm well dressed clean and polite but the business men in the city is what I wotrk with and they pay me bills plus Addison Lee drivers just earn there boss loads of money why they get shit plus they dress at primary but you get what you pay for thanks for the feed back

  • Nothing more than people trafficers.Drivers on slave wages being told to ignore Her Majestys Highway Laws while griffin lives the high life .One day the papers will pick up on this and this company will slowly go down the tubes

  • That seems u jump the light,

  • @motabbirh

Look again at the beginning of the clip and you will clearly see the green light. Check out some of my RLJ videos and you will understand my feelings on those who do run red lights (motorists and cyclists). It is silly, dangerous and illegal.

  • +1 all the posts about them being the worst drivers in London. They even make the Black Taxi drivers look professional (only just though)

  • They are just the worst drivers in London. If I see one I'll give them a wide berth as they drive so aggressivley.

Just had too many of them cut me up or pull out in front of me.

  • The Institute of Advanced Motorist has gone down hill!

    From Addison Lee website

"All Addison Lee drivers are employed subject to meeting the minimum pass requirement (80%) of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) examination."

Say after me "Advanced motorist my arse"

  • @finbat what a crock of crap!

I was riding behind my GF's car and an Addison Lee driver muscled into the lane clipping her mirror with his mirror in the process. I honestly almost dragged him out of his half open window.

  • real answer is because he was selfish. selfishness is the reason behind all the 'my road' attitudes, red light runners, and road hogs.

  • seems usual for addison lee drivers.

Have you contacted the company? i know they take complaints seriously!

  • who is Addison Lee ?

  • @Abdelhak92izi

Addison Lee is a company that provides private hire taxi services and couriers.

  • he saw you just choose to ignore you
