Why do so many artists or people of African descent keep separating themselves from the rest of the world? I thought the whole rights movement was because they wanted to be equal. Same with the feminist art movement. They just created another extreme.
What? By equating the black vaneer of his scultures to the "invisibility of blacks in America", he's recyling negative connotations of black in his own artwork. I think that some of these black artists who get featured on Art:21 and reach the pinnacle of the artworld are chosen because they are so confused about how their own art is self-denigrading.
