I love this movie, just the other day I watched it on tv and I liked it alot! ;)

In one scene where she visites him in prison she brought some red colored pouder with her. what does it mean, when he put the red colored pouder on the top of her head and she put a red colored paint on his fourhead? what does that mean in hindi culture? I think it was very beutiful,but i don't know what it means.

I would be very greatful for the answer! ;)
