all tesla roadsters come with the same transmission. it's a two speed that can either be shifted with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or be put in fully automatic mode. so no clutch:(

If money were no option, I'd take the Tesla in a heartbeat... As long as I had a long distance hauler too. The only downside about the Tesla, other than the price of course, is that it takes 3 hours to charge. I know it's not supposed to be a cross country hauler, but a 400 mile trip would take a hell of a long time. Still, great car.
EV vehicles main problem is the battery pack that costs like $20000 and it lasts only like 400 charges. Also there is no natural source of car heating, that is another major problem.

Zenn car only does up to 35 miles at only 25mph and thats on a full 8 hour charge. It utilises lead acid batteries. Its basically a golf cart with a nice paint job. I would imagine that later models will use lithium batteries which would increase its performance and range dramatically. It would also increase its price aswell. Good thing is that lithium batteries are totally recyclable. Lithium batteries will get much cheaper as demand increases.

Yes. A friend of mine fits easily in a Lotus Elise (he's 6ft7 or 8) and thats the same car. Only conventionally powered.

Windshield wipers and a few other items carried over. Different wheelbase, interior, seats, powertrain, suspension, etc. Not the same. Very different. Similar passenger size capacity, though.

all tesla roadsters come with the same transmission. it's a two speed that can either be shifted with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or be put in fully automatic mode. so no clutch:(

It's not a golf cart but it is a SMALL SUV.
The great thing would be to set-up some solar (pv) panels..and yes lithium (expensive?) is the way to go..and it's affordable (under $15,000)..

If money were no option, I'd take the Tesla in a heartbeat... As long as I had a long distance hauler too. The only downside about the Tesla, other than the price of course, is that it takes 3 hours to charge. I know it's not supposed to be a cross country hauler, but a 400 mile trip would take a hell of a long time. Still, great car.

EV vehicles main problem is the battery pack that costs like $20000 and it lasts only like 400 charges. Also there is no natural source of car heating, that is another major problem.

Even so - 400 * 250 = 100,000 miles. Pretty long run considering that after 400 charges it will just get less miles/charge.

Cmon now, they're a beginning company, they didn't have the time nor the budget to create their own design from the ground up but they did succeed in making a unique look despite all that. And it should be noted that they are already working on Whitestar, their next car which will be a $50-60,000 5 seat sedan which will be reputedly a 100% tesla original design.

Zenn car only does up to 35 miles at only 25mph and thats on a full 8 hour charge. It utilises lead acid batteries. Its basically a golf cart with a nice paint job. I would imagine that later models will use lithium batteries which would increase its performance and range dramatically. It would also increase its price aswell. Good thing is that lithium batteries are totally recyclable. Lithium batteries will get much cheaper as demand increases.
