How about you read "How to Break a Terrorist" by Matthew Alexander. He is someone who actually went in and broke terrorists and got information from them. He tells you how psycological methods of getting information work much better than torture. As do most studies show that torture is not a good way of getting information due to the fact that you cannot trust the information, when someone is being tortured they will immediately shut down or something lie just to get you to stop.
