I think if you don't get the strumming pattern, you should at least hum the song--the beat of the song. The beat dictates the strumming pattern, and it also is the count. It works for me and I am able to find the strumming patterns of even harder songs.

erm, for almost every chord. at the pre-chorus, which is the "i'll bring you more than a song" part, strum D,D,DU for each chord. more is explained in the video itself, which pattern to use for which part
