@AngelEOriginal A Fender Mustang, of course. The exact kind Manabe uses. Kurt Cobain also used one in Nirvana. It's a great guitar. Very versatile and the pickups are much better than the ones in a Stratocaster. They can handle distortion quite well. Definitely worth the money. If you're interested in getting a guitar, I would highly reccomend this model.

He is using a technique named "Octave technique". He plays only two notes at the time. The Base note, and the note that is an octave higher than the base. The powerchords uses pretty similar technique.

I didn't use tabs, myself. I watched the Manabe guitar tutorial for this one. He shows you where to put your fingers, and everything. It's very helpful.
