Calm down people. First study the reserve currency and how it works in world trade. Then know that the US economy isn't the same as it was when the dollar gain the status of the most demanded currency for trade in the world. Calm down people. First study the reserve currency and how it works in world trade. Then know that the US economy isn't the same as it was when the dollar gain the status of the most demanded currency for trade in the world. Other developed countries wanted their currency to be available for trade too, so the SDR was invented. It's not a world take over, it's more like leveling the playing field in world trade. Forget what Alex is saying he's a dope.

@Boomer1949 - what you fail to understand is that by this "levelling of the playing fields" your standard of living needs to be brought down to a level near par with third-world nations. Feel like living in a grass hut? No food to be had? Wanna eat your dog? By merging the US dollar with the Canadian and the Mexican peso alone, the overall value is going to bottom out, while the cost of everything remains where it is today and gets higher. Welcome to poverty.

Please do a Google search on world reserve currency, or better yet Petro Dollar right here on YouTube. That will explain better than I can what I mean about Reserve currency. The dollar is not worthless, it's in high demand around the world because of it's reserve status

@UBER069 I wouldn't worry about what the UN says about the dollar, they have no control. Now if the IMF refuses the dollar...that's big trouble. So far, (knock on wood) the world still believes in the US being able to rebound and grow, so the demand for the dollar as a reserve currency is still in demand.

@UBER069 There are indicators that point to fact we are in a slow recovery. I know I've seen many more job openings in the last couple of months than I've seen for a long time in up state NY, and I'm talking manufacturing. The items that we manufacture in up state NY aren't rubber duckies, they are very expensive, highly technical equipment for the medical and military markets. The demand is growing world wide.
