Didn't layne take over writing most of the lyrics after Facelift? Don't quiz me but I'm pretty sure he was writing atleast half. What could they have done? The only person I can think of at being at fault is mike starr but layne's own mother forgave him.
Get a grip man. Laney wasn't the mind or heart. He was the voice though. He was amazing, I agree, but in fact Cantrell wrote most of the songs (music AND lyrics), and he's an amazing guitar player.
You are correct that Cantrell wrote most of the songs AND lyrics....but the fact of the matter is AIC has amounted to nothing since Layne's passing and will never be the same. Layne was the heart and soul of the band. Cantrell tried to make it on his own and we all see where that landed him....
