i think avery goes a little too far. tyson nash was a disturber too and it worked but didnt take it to the "classless" lengths avery does. the nash/avery style does and a flare to the game though...just too far on avery's part.
hey barry melrose is fucking SAINT for all you pussies out there that can't handle a little chirping well then fuck you and go play soccer you fuckin euro/french faggets
ALl the Dallas Stars fans blamed Avery for their poor 2008-2009 season. OK that's fine but since he was not on the team this past season, what's the excuse now?? No Avery & Dallas did not make the playoffs again.
@Herbonator200 really? I read some stat somewhere that the rangers during some stretch in the past couple of years that they were far better with avery in the lineup than they were without him.
@tomlambsays The Rangers during the 2007-2008 season were better with Avery in the lineup. In Dallas, Avery was considered the disease that destroyed teh team which was not the case. The Dallas Stars just wantd to blame all their troubles on Avery. I Love Avery and what he brings to the game. He is colorful and while you look at him, he is a decent player too.
@killedE1mo No, since I don't give a toss about the Rangers. However, if you actually check the records of teams he's been on, they've always been crappy.
Avery squats to pee and is always upset because he cant find the right sized tampon and apparently it gives him a hissy fit. Maybe he needs a hug and some MIDOL.
The problem with Barry's theory is that Avery won't fight Phaneuf. If they'd get rid of the BS instigator rule, then the player's could take matters into their own hands, like they used to before that stupid rule was made!
However, I will say that "any publicity is good publicity" is a load of BS. And I'll also note that even if the suspension wasn't fair, I don't think anyone ever felt sorry for the guy.
He got fired because the Bolts were all hyped up on Stamkos playing with Vinny and Marty and when they played exactly how everybody else thought they were, they fired him. He coaches tough and in your face. They thought that wasn't the right way to coach a bunch of young guys. Probably would have ended up exactly the same if they decided to stick it out.
they threw him in to a no win situation. that team needed to rebuild, but some hollywood guy tryign to impress his hollywood friends decided to buy every free agent, and hype up Stamkos who might have needed another year in juniors. Im not saying Melrose was a good or a bad coach, but there was nothing he could do in that situation. they were trading and signing new players after 2 games, team was being run like it was a pissed off tampa fan as the GM
bull fucking shit. hes a bitch, if hes allowed to act like a bitch on the ice, players should be able to beat the shit out of him with no consequences. example, if he trash talks brodeur again, marty should be allowed to take his stick and knock out a few of avery's teeth without any penalties.
at least, thats what I'd like to see.
AND its obvious no one likes him, so why keep him? hes a disease to the league.
Sean Avery's role on the ice is an agitator, or pest. His function is to get opponents to dislike him. This requires someone who is slightly emotionally imbalanced.
Trash talking is apart of all sports, fuck that comment, and don't act like a Devil's player never talked any kind of trash or did something borderline because every hockey player goes borderline every once in a while. It's a tough sport and if players want to complain about a Sean Avery type then go into gymnastics because hockey is a mans game and if you can't beat Avery's talk with your game stat wise or physically, then I suppose he did his job and that player sucks ass like Avery said!!!
way to be on top of shit. You're responding to a comment on an incident that happened how long ago?
why don't you go hop off my jock and hop on his. OF COURSE devil players talk shit, but not to the extent avery goes. i get it his role is to piss people off, but at least back it up. if you're gonna start a fight finish it. Avery backs off everytime a fights about to break out.
i'll give him props for better self control, but if you talk trash and the other person wants to fight. FINISH IT!
I don't think its so much WHAT he said, but HOW he went about it. I guess it was a bit more sexual than what you usually hear, but I think his cowardly and totally transparent way of doing it was just plain stupid.
Now, I don't know if he deserved a suspension though... that's another issue...
ur retarded. if the league allowed broduer to do something like that than i wuld no longer be a fan of the NHL. avery is an agitator he gets under peoples skin and when he commits a penalty he gets called on it and put in the box. the same rules go for everyone to make it equal. if brodeur cant control his anger and decides to let avery get under his skin than thats his problem and hes letting avery win. we need more players like avery to draw more entertainment to the league and hav more fans
if sean avery wasnt a problem in the locker room, he would be a huge asset to any team willing to take him
he clearly aggravates just about anyone he crosses paths with, and it takes them off their game tremendously
marty brodeur was a perfect example. all he could think about was the screen play he pulled and before you knew it, the devils were bounced out of the first round in 5 games
you cant tell me that there isnt a team in the league that would turn down that type of psyche he can bring
i like melrose but i dont agree with the comment "any publicity is good publicity", yes and no. for hockey, it needs any publicity it can get. i love sean avery hes my favorite player i thought what he said was funny but what r u gonna do... he needs to come back to the rangers where only one city can hold him, one coach can contain him and one team he can play for the NY Rangers. think aboot it, no fines or suspensions when he was with them only a new rule.
Why does anyone care about what he says regarding Alisha. lol Who gives a fuck. Honestly, the stars need to take the tampons out n man up. If anything every guy should laugh about it. Not release the guy from the team. lol The Dallas Stars are some awfully sensitive/fragile boys over there. Lookout for vaginal blood on the ice.
"Any publicity is good publicity"? Yeah, maybe if you're a has-been like Melrose. Barry would like to see the NHL become a sideshow with nothing BUT fighting, trash talking and antics. I don't care about what Avery said, but if the NHL encouraged every player to be like him, hockey would cease being a sport.

I wouldn't have cared too much about the incident if he wasn't playing for the Stars.
He was one of the big reasons our 08-09 season got fucked up last year. None of the Dallas Stars players liked him.
