@barbfeick The main problem with that is that its not true. Its also important to remember that correlation doesn't equal causation; the rise in autism also corresponds with the rise in home computer use, but that doesn't mean autism was caused by it. If you'd looked, you'd have noticed the rise followed a broadening of the definition, and was helped by increased awareness (many school teachers have been trained to recognize the signs of it these days).
It is not usually just one vaccine that is causing the problem. it is ALL the vaccines. 60+ vaccines now before age twelve for the average child. There have been investigtions, and nothing has been able to link autism to MMR shots with any scientific validity. The original study was botched and Wakefield himself was unable to replicate his results. There the MMR shot is given right when autism starts to show symptoms. Tragic, but NOT a cause and effect scenario.
Man disabled by MMR vaccine awarded £90,000 after 13-year fight

Even if you want to ignore the dozens of studies showing no link between autism and vaccines, its much harder to ignore or wave away the very real statistics of what happened when thimerosal was removed from childhood vaccines in several countries or when the MMR vaccine was made optional instead of compulsory such as in Japan: not even a blip in the rise in autism rates in any country. That lack of effect would be impossible if they were actually a cause in even a portion of the cases.
@ArcanaKnight Studies funded by who? Oh...the vaccine manufacturers of course. What motivation could they have for lying or spinning results? Since company employees are the ONLY people with access to complete dat sets most of the time you have NO way to evaluate the data. Are you claiming to be psychic?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny As I pointed out where you posted this study, I find it more than a bit odd that every study showing no link is supposedly useless because of big pharma corruption, but studies that support your idea that there is a link (ignoring design flaws, etc.) are apparently completely reliable.
@ArcanaKnight You find it "odd" because you don't understand it. Companies don't lie in order to LOSE money. A favorable study may or may not be true but we'll never know because the only people with access to all the data work for the company and the company funds the studies.
Why do YOU want to ignore studies which support Wakefield's findings? DHHS epidemiologists found a similar link between the measles vaccine& neurological impairment. A 1998 published report by (Weibel RE, Caserta V, Benor DE, Evans G.) reviewed claims submitted to the U.S. National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program found:
CONCLUSIONS: This clustering suggests that a causal relationship between measles vaccine& encephalopathy may exist as a rare complication of measles immunization."
@ArcanaKnight "RESULTS: A total of 48 children, ages 10 to 49 mon., met the inclusion criteria after receiving measles vaccine, alone or in combination. 8 children died.. the remainder had mental regression& retardation, chronic seizures motor& sensory deficits& movement disorders. The onset of neurologic signs or symptoms occurred ...statistically significant distribution of cases on days 8 and 9. No cases were identified after the administration of monovalent mumps or rubella vaccine.
@mykoolaidtastesfunny That review doesn't actually support his findings except in the vaguest possible sense, nor was it a replication; it also only found that such a link was biologically plausible, it didn't establish that there was a causal link.
There were many things wrong with Wakefield's study. Here is an easy to comprehend source that presents them (and also includes citations): tallguywrites. livejournal. com/ 148012. html
@ArcanaKnight I disagree. That doesn't sound "vague" at all. 1.Dr. Wakefield’s paper was SIMPLY a case study of 12 children. Hundreds of case reports are published each year in the medical journals… and are essentially ignored. He didn’t make *any claims* in his original paper that has gotten all the attention.
.His original paper was simply a hypothesis, not a claim, of the connection to Autism. You wouldn't know that because I know for a fact that you never bother to read anything
@mykoolaidtastesfunny There is an enormous difference between saying something is even in the realm of possibility (which is all that review actually said) and finding a causal link between vaccines and autism.
Also, Wakefield's results has been shown to be based on faked evidence: he ignored data conflicting with his hypothesis, and the autism onset dates reported in the study don't match the patient's medical records.
@ArcanaKnight He NEVER claimed a causal connection. Now you're making yet more unsubstantiated allegations. WHAT "faked" evidence? You realize the paper which everyone is wetting their pants over is only 5 pages long right? And that independent research found a similar link? You need to READ before opening your mouth
@mykoolaidtastesfunny No, we've been over this already. The independent research you're referring to only found that it was biologically possible, in other words that it was not impossible; they didn't find any causal link as you suggest. And the faked evidence I was referring to was the mismatch between the children's medical records and what was reported in the study and testimony of ignoring conflicting data. There is also more evidence of shoddy science, but its not at the level of fraud.
@mykoolaidtastesfunny I don't know what you're referring to. I didn't say anything about "may". If you mean the review you keep pointing to as confirmation of Wakefield's fraudulent study, they didn't find that there "may" be a link, they just found that such a link wasn't biologically impossible (as in "it would be biologically impossible for a human to literally bleed acid").
@ArcanaKnight Lol...DUH!..I wasn't quoting YOU...I bet you don't know where I got "may" since you don't r.e.a.d.
"CONCLUSIONS: This clustering suggests that a causal relationship between measles vaccine and encephalopathy MAY exist as a rare complication of measles immunization."
@mykoolaidtastesfunny Your response was to something I said, and you made no mention of the review in your comment, so how on earth could I know that you were referring to something else?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny I do agree that Wakefield's paper didn't make any causal claims, but he did make such claims to the press. Given the shoddiness of media coverage on science topics, they just reported his quotes without bothering to verify that his study actually supported them. Wakefield's claims about single-shot MMR vaccines caused vaccination rates to plummet which has resulted in thousands in the UK being infected by these debilitating disease and even a few deaths.
@ArcanaKnight That's a fault of the media NOT his paper. Oh...NOW you agree? before you were calling him all kinds of a fraud. Why? Because YOU don't read!!! You have ZERO idea of what's going on. Dude....you don't even read your OWN sources. If you had caught me doing that what would you think of me?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny He IS a fraud. The fraudulent findings in his paper didn't support the claims he made at the press conference he held in conjunction with publishing it. He has also since made even more claims about the supposed link in the press and his book, so the media coverage IS at least partially his fault.
@ArcanaKnight Dude....I already said that...in truth I have NOT researched the Wakefield case deeply...my main complaint is with the CORRUPTION at work in medical science these days. Answer my question....if you had caught me NOT reading my own sources what would you think of me?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny You haven't researched the case, yet you feel comfortable enough in your position to defend him? How is that even possible when you weren't even aware of his many ethics violations? Could it be that you did as much research about this as you normally do; that you found something to support your belief, then claim corruption and conspiracy to explain away disconfirming evidence?
@ArcanaKnight How many times do I need to say the EXACT same thing to you?
I claim that the pharma companies are CORRUPT across the board and I've offered plnety of evidence for that including the NYT article that came out two days ago regarding the manufacturers getting caught COVERING UP data for 11 YEARS. THAT is and has always been my position.
@mykoolaidtastesfunny Unless of course a study they funded supports your position in some way, then you apparently think its COMPLETELY reliable. They're still the same people you claim are hopelessly corrupt and are covering up data, so much so that you claim any conflicting study is automatically corrupted, so what changed that suddenly ONLY the studies that agree with you are reliable?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny This is pointless, you will apparently continue to fail to see how dogmatic it is to claim that ALL studies that conflict with you are automatically corrupt while saying that ONLY the studies that agree with you are reliable. You're effectively no different than conspiracy theorists claiming that all conflicting evidence is "part of the conspiracy".
If they're able to produce some studies that aren't automatically corrupted, why would it ONLY be the ones that agree with you which are reliable? The more you talk, the more it looks like it is just your position is supported by dogmatic belief instead of evidence.
@ArcanaKnight Also...I'll say this AGAIN too....it is IMPOSSIBLE to know one way or the other because pharma co's have the loooonnnng habit of hiding evidence which will hurt their sales.
How is that difficult to understand? You CAN'T evaluate data that you don't have access to?
@mykoolaidtastesfunny Oh, you say its impossible to know one way or the other, yet it is supposedly possible to know that there IS a link since the studies that agree with you are apparently the ONLY ones free of the corruption you claim is so pervasive that it automatically voids all conflicting studies.
Also, you haven't actually caught me not reading my source; you just quote mined something you took to support your belief and then stated that I hadn't read it. Secondly, my opinion of you probably wouldn't change much if it came out that you hadn't read a source you posted. You already arbitrarily dismiss all conflicting evidence anyway, and have shown you don't do much research at all before you reach a conclusion, so I don't exactly have much trust in the facts you claim as it is.
@ArcanaKnight Oh yes....I caught you more than once pretending to have read something that it became abundantly clear that you had NOT read. The link to the science based evidence site CONFIRMED Fiona Godlee's complaint you fool! Tha author wasn't even complaining about the BMJ article...he was taking issue with MSM coverage of it. YOU didn't know that because YOU never read it.
@mykoolaidtastesfunny No, it didn't really; you just quote mined a couple things out of context to make it look that way. And no, the author wasn't complaining about the article, he was reviewing the study that the BMJ article was based on and also commenting on the just awful coverage it got in the media, especially at The Atlantic.
@ArcanaKnight Lmao....Ok....Now I AM going a-scrolling through comments sunshine. Unfortunately if you copy paste the comment turns up as spam so I'm going to have to type it in.
@ArcanaKnight Actually...no need to type it all out.....here it is...Doctor Admits Vaccine Is More Deadly Than Swine Flu Itself & Will Not Give It To His Kids
There YOU are claiming that your link will put the BMJ article into "context". Oops...except it became abundantly clear to me that ...YOU never read the BMJ article OR the one you suggested because that article CONFIRMS Fiona Godlee's complaint that data IS withheld from the scientific community.
When you developed bipolar and OCD were you being medicated between the time you were diagnosed with your Aspergers until the time you decided to get your digestion treated?
Watch the youtube video "CDC Chief Admits that Vaccines Trigger Autism". When watching this video, it becomes rather obvious that this whole vaccine business is an organised criminal enterprise.
When I refused an mmr jab for my 16yr old son, the nurse said its only babies that are at any risk not teenagers. I'm amazed that a medical person has admitted any connection & sadly I didn't get it on tape!!
Why is there no real investigation into the increase in autism? Surely because the government already knows.
History of walking into walls bad stuttering haveing fits. Dint understand just watched mouths move. It kept me from making friends. Take apart electronics and fix things. Im smart but stupid. People didnt understand. My spelling is getting good now. Ended up pregnet because Im prity I guess. Came along way thanks to detox of mercury. Ill get foggy sometimes & start ignoring if someone is not around asking me if I took my bentonite clay and oil. I dont want to go back to how I was. Best wishes.
I put my kid on tredmill in front of a big glass sliding door once. My ADHD was worse back then. So glad my husband caught it and moved it. The chair pales in comparison. Bentonite clay as a heavy metal remover found in health food stores, flax oil, eating organic vegan has done wonders for me and Im 37. Mercury binds to meat protein makes for a lousy detox. If I could only get my sister to stop giving her asbergers kid fluoride toothpaste Never give up Angus. Its all in the foods that heal.
I don't think you will have any success in getting a parent to stop doing anything for their children, let them parent they way they know how. What is best is to see if you reach an agreement with your sister on what she is doing right, and only then will she be open to new ideas of helping her kids with the proper nutritional tools, which there is mounds of research on improving brain function disorder with nutrition.
Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a hero. He was brave enough to go up against the "scared cow" and tell them the vaccinations are causing all these health problems. The pharmaceutical companies are trying to remove Dr. Wakefield's license because he is RIGHT! And the pharmaceutical companies are going to face HUGE problems as more doctors and scientists exploit the TRUTH about the sick vaccinations!!! ADHD & ADD is in the spectrum of Autism.
My friend Sharon's son who became autistic as a result of vaccination reverted back to normal after the vaccine mercury was detoxed from his body. Check out Sharon's comments at the end of my personal profile by clicking on 'vaccinesharmbabies'.
Vaccines cause 90 percent of all illness around today thats a fact google vaccine /illhealth..sorry to read of your probswith your sons helath it dosent do anyones psych any good to think they did for there kids which is wrong with them now
Well my son was born with everything (genitic wise), but the ADHD is something I cant beat myself over. I gave him shots because it's what I thought a mom does to protect their child (sick or healthy)from bad things. He is on Risperdal and it works so far.
Plus because he was born ill, I thought it was extra pertection. I live knowing what I do/did is out of love. And none of his dr's will say why he has it, but they do deny shot related. I wont ever know.
Let me clerify myself...his dr's wont say he got ADHD from any shots. He has it but they say it's just something that happens. it could be heriditary they said as well because of all his other issues.
So sorry to read that .FWIW nobody is ever told its shot related but we all know. The best site where to read about this is the Thoughtful House Forum or JABS a Uk parent help group read the forums .Very best dont need to explain to us ..

I love this video and what it is about but the chair in back of that kid on the swing needs to be mooved for the kids safety !

I wont ever know.
nyprincess10001 4 years ago
Let me clerify myself...his dr's wont say he got ADHD from any shots. He has it but they say it's just something that happens. it could be heriditary they said as well because of all his other issues.
Thank you for the link, i will look at it
