Easily stand out track in performance at MCC in August.Undecided as to whether 'acoustic' performance outclassed playing of song on 'Monster' tour in 1995.
I was lucky to hear this song in Budapest at the Sziget....Great piece, as the most of their works. Only wish I can experience one more concert of REM ....The one in Budapest was far too short
They played it like this a few hours ago in Vilnius. I was rather disappointed in the beggining. The band was playing their later albums, which don't quite add up to the glory. And I disliked the way the entire Monster album sounded, the overall noisy feeling of it all. But this let me see the song in a completely different light. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you.
starchilddk...I agree...I was there in Copenhagen....Fantastic show...but ONE moment really got me....that was this song....I acctually had tears in my eyes...I loved Kurbain. Stipe and Kurt were best friends and this song is Stipe's way of saying "you bastard, I could have saved you!!!!"
I was at the Twickenham concert. If I had to hear one song again it was this one. I've always loved this track (I believe it's about Curt Cobain?) and this version of it is beautiful.
Lucky! I wish I could have gone. Yeah it's a great version isn't it - I love REMs acoustic versions of their song. You're right - it is about Kurt Cobain.

I like the heavy guitars on the original versions, but this one is also very special. Because they stick together for this one.

Yep we've done that one already. Capital 'C' for Cobain if we're being clever.
