  • I'm going to have to say, that it sounds like Cockroach was probably turned away from being able to ride on an excursion because of his disheveled appearance, horrible body odor, and unseemly personality. this would equate out to why he has such a disdain for this steam loco, as I have not really seen his comments on other videos. Here's an idea BOY, take a shower, get a haircut, take some of your recreational drugs that do make you artificially happy, then take a ride on a steamer.

  • To the 2nd comment HAHAHAHAHAHA lol :). Second, wasn't she in Cali, before, please claify.

  • @AntiFederalist1 I doubt he has "junked" one of these in his life, I dont recall one being sent to the scrappers since the late 70s?

  • I bet 745 would look good in daylight colors

  • Good to see 745 running.

Sorry CocKHead O cockroauch looks like she is good for 5 more years,

  • First off the one in Austin is her sister 774 that one is her twin except th eone in tx has a smaller tender in water capacity.but they are twins. Now for the asshole who hates old things , shut the hell up go away if you like her or us then dont watch the video stupi!!!!!!!! go find another ideo to watch. I send my money to Lasta ever year to help keep her running (notice I said my money pinhead.

  • now there is a rumer that another one of these may be restored to run another sister engine to this one the one sitting in San Antonio at Sunset Station I sure hope so...I was in Austin that year the tornado went through and turned over the tender on the ASTA engine

  • It just hit me you are correct I am wrong 774 is in Grapevine TX not Austin my bad. We at Lasta borrowed a part from the Asta guys some time ago. The one in Grapevine is supposed to be restored soon so I hear.

  • well have you heard about San Antonios engine possibly being restored too the one at the amtrak station there ...I also remember when the one came to Grapevine Tx I was there when they deliverd it to them it was in pretty sad shape they butcherd it when they moved it from Victoria ....I was on the LASTA trip a few years ago when we died on Rich Mountain on the KCS some dame fool gave us bad fuel in Heavner we has to shut the egine down in a real hurry to save the boiler so I heard sad day

  • Have you heard of the scrapper who was shot after being tried in court by a bunch of railfans?????????????????!!!!!

  • and i take it this roach would be just as gleeful if there had been injuries or loss of life. Also this dimwit doesn't have a scrap yard, he is just an internet hater.

  • We lost too many steam locomotives you dumbass! Don't junk the steam locomotive, it's tender or caboose. Without steam locomotives, our lives would be boring, WW3 would begin, and millions of people would commit suicide. Injuries and loss of IS Cockroach2008's plan!

  • i'll never join you you basterd! I didn't even say I wanted to be part of your campaign. If you can't read, after I called you a dumbass, I said, DON'T junk the steam locomotive, it's tender or caboose.

  • You obviously don't know what I'm saying to you. I WILL NEVER JOIN YOU! You don't have a scrap yard. Your just a four year old that doesn't understand anything, everyone including me hates you. Go fuking live with it!

  • Nice choice of words! I most certainly agree!

  • Ur gay

    u have no friends

u have no steam train junking campaign

    I bet you're a 4 year old

    u can't read

    everyone on Utube hates you

your going to hell when you die

    LIVE WITH IT!

  • @thomasVSstewie love your comment. this moron is on every steam engine video. lol.

  • i'm not so sure about that, their R tons of videos he doesn't no about

  • @CuseRecorder Yes, yes! It is delightful to junk a steam locomotive! Then to the foundry to watch all the parts melt!

Junk the steam locomotives & old mining equipment! Cut it apart & melt it down!

  • @Cockroach2008

Cool story bro, tell the chapter were i start to care.

  • @Cockroach2008 You fucking 10 year old who hates steam. They need to throw your ass in a firebox.

  • @AlcoholicSemenStain Thank you for the VERY FLATTERING compliment! I sincerely appreciate it!

I am delighted that you agree the steam locomotive should be graffiti paint covered, stripped of it's parts, junked out, scrapped, cut apart & sent to the foundry in pieces for melting into new useful products!

  • Another junker, ready for the cutting torch!

Steam locomotive technology is dead. Time to move on.

Cut it up with torches and melt it!

  • so ignorant...its called preserving a part of history that made our country great...howd u like it if I said "Look another F59! Another Junker, ready for the torch, its dead and useless, cut it up!"

  • The past is preserved for you in the pages of a history book. I have no problem disposing of old articles and using the materials to make new items.

If you do, I would guess your garage is full of stuff and you park your personal transportation in the street or driveway. Maybe you understand it. Many do not!

I have no problem cutting apart a steam locomotive or an F59. When they have come to the end of their service life, or no longer economically practical to operate, cut it up and melt it!

  • see heres the problem: a history book can only tell you so much. You cant reach out and touch it, experience it, in real life. You can comprehend the power behind something life this in real life, not in the dusty pages of a stuffy book. I do hang onto things that are important, not crap. FYI my garage is clean and I can park my car in there. I do have a problem destroying either. Its called preservation.

  • If its not economically practical to operate, sell it to a private owner for them to operate if they please. People operate locomotives like this because they are preserving our treasured past for generations to come.

  • . 90% of all steam operations in our country are volunteer-based. Those people(including me) are doing what they're doing for a reason.

And if we go by your mentality we should destroy any relics we have from WWI, WWII the Civil War, anything from railroads or the airline industry or the road services thats not economically viable should be destroyed, genius...

  • .90%? That is pretty small being equal to .009.

No doubt you are doing what you do for a reason. Everything is done for a reason.

You are correct! All of that old relic and garbage which is not self supporting from it's own revenue is in need of junking, scrapping, disposal and replacement with a new article.

I thank you because like you have observed, it is genius! Thank you for the observation and very kind words.

  • Somehow, I think you don't get youweathertodayHD's point...

  • People who operate steam locomotives are feeding their own ego at other people's expense.

Fools line up and give them their money. Fine with me!

I don't give them any of mine and I campaign my government officials not to give any tax dollars to support their ego feed folly! The benefit is for so few people for nothing more than their egos!

You want them, you preserve them! I will not purchase any excursion, exhibition, donate or recommend anyone do so!

Scrap, junk and melt them all!

  • The problem is yours and yours alone!

Who needs to "reach out and touch" a steam locomotive? Maybe only you! Certainly not worth the preservation cost unless you can finance it yourself!

What is "in real life"? That which is not preserved for you, is not real?

If your book pages dusty and stuffy. That indicates you need to clean out our bookshelf.

I discard many things, working or not when they come end of practical, economic life.

Steam locomotives are just more junk which need disposal!

  • holy crap you are the most arrogant bastard I've talked to. I meant 90%. We dont operate them for our own ego, we do it because we a preserving an intergral part of our countrys past. We dont fool people, they line up willingly, some of them are even free. These things were built to last. UP 844 outlasted its deisel counterpart. People need to understand what these things do, and no book can fully explain that, any author and historian and sane person will agree!

  • Think of me what you will!

You are preserving junk iron in my opinion.

I don't line up to participate, contribute, support or see such junk. I have plenty of junk iron in the scrap yard to look at.

Who NEEDS to understand steam locomotives? It is certainly a dead career path.

Every thing has a service life. The time for steam locomotives in commercial operation have long ended. That is why the railroad disposed of them!

These run as nothing more than toys and amusements. Not serious work!

  • toys and amusements!? How about windows into our countrys great past! Days when men were men, people earned an honest living and didnt sit around on their fat asses living off welfare. Days when hard work was rewarded with wages that payed the bills and fed the family. Days when kids dreamed of being railroaders or ship captains or ironworkers, not rappers or gangstas or porn stars.

  • They provide an opportunity for us to look back and remember what our country was, and can be. IF you destroy that, you destroy a part of America.

  • All that is now a memory which belongs in the pages of a history book. You can spend your life wishing for the past. Truth is, you can never go back! I look forward to the future and new products.

I look forward to the removal of all these old junkers and clunkers, melting the materials down and making new articles with them.

Steam locomotives iron is perfect metal for manhole covers, anchor chain, traffic light standards, construction rebar, fishing sinkers and elevator counter weights!

  • If you don't care about steam, stop watching these videos!

  • I was on that steamer when it died on us going south at Rich mountain Arkansas and we had to leave it in the sideing dead what a sad day that was going the rest of the way into New Orleans behind diesel

  • 5 stars nice!!!!
