  • I too have resolved to get back into plastic modeling. I have a closet full of various models; planes, cars, dioramas...even a low rider bicycle someone gave me. I am painting my Aurora Godzilla with some Tamiya paint right now. I also like to prime my cars first. I'm no pro, but I really enjoy the process. I'm glad you're back into the hobby. Hopefully one day you can teach your little one the craft. I have a 5 year old nephew I will indoctrinate soon. Stay RAD!

  • Tamiya use horrible PLASTIC compaired to others of the same price HPI use horrible convoluted designs to extort money out of people the chassis are some Hippies Trip through Time Really do you need a maze of match stick sized plastic parts to create a 1/5 scale vehicle thats dodgy, Don't buy tamiya till they start selling better kits of better material that plastic is CRAP HPi is the same but more crap

    LOSi

    Team Xray

    Team associated

    Traxxas

others make better Kits for same price as a Tamiya

  • hey stevethefishdotnet, do u have any of the 1/24 scale plastic car model kit of the japanese car that you might wanted to sell. please PM me. thanks

  • come to think of it, in all the dozens of models i've bought (and 4 finished, haha) never actually tried a normal car, looks interesting :)

  • Im buyin motorized version, is it the same??

  • @hksice200 Check out the last vid, #13, and you can see the motorized version. Cosmetically, it's identical, except for the underneath of the car. Plus, it comes with a driver figure.

  • why a honda fit? just asking, i like them i guess

  • @FeelinGipper Because they're awesome. I love hatchbacks. My next car will be a Fit. This model is the early 2000's version, which is okay, but the new ones look like something from Back to the Future Part II.

  • @stevethefishdotnet yea. i like the new civic hatchback type r's and the si. fujimi makes a model kit of the type r that may be in my future to build, too bad tamiya doesnt make one though :(

  • @FeelinGipper I'm not that familiar with Fujimi kits. Are they decent to build? My guess is that they'd do a better car model than a typical Ertyl model. I don't care for Ertyl, and I think they are not around anymore.

  • @stevethefishdotnet the model kits they make are good but they are all molded in the same color as the body so if the body comes molded in red its going to be hard to paint it white or yellow unless you use a surface primer first. the fitment when putting them together is ok but no where near as good as tamiya kits. Fujimi is comparable to Revell but fujimi puts more parts in their kits for more detail.

  • January 15th. You built that on my birthday

  • my dad drive a honda fit

  • If you have previous experience, you should graduate up to something less dainty.

you have the right paints for it

  • @TheRocketSilo Mmmm... "Dainty?" Not sure what you mean. You mean the Fit model? This is the first car model I've attempted to build. I have Aoshima's Knight Rider season 4 K.I.T.T. model that I look forward to building, but I want to tackle this Fit model first.

  • Looks to be a great kit, and yes, who could resist the right driver option. Just now realizing there's a part 2 so I'll see you over there. But there's a bunch of us here posting model videos. Do I see Tom Servo from MST3K up there by the paint?

  • @ToppervisionEnt Yes, that's Tom Servo! it came with a limited edition DVD box set. I made a Tom Servo Head and painted it with Testors spray paints. You can see in my video of my living room (check my channel).

  • very interesting

    i'm following (:

  • hey i'm into models especially honda models....i should start modeling again
