I played this game (included in SNK arcade vol.1) yesterday. Man, this game is really tough, but fun! Thanks for uploading these videos, and now I got hints to beat this game in easier ways.
...so I chose the Samurai form for the final battle, jumped around, sliced like mad, got my butt kicked soundly, reverted to Elta's normal form and got obliterated repeatedly before I finally beat the game not long before my quarters ran out.
And then YOU chose the Raijin form, then proceeded to just stand there and completely fry the bastard.
Impressive ! Gratz ! I've spend so much time trying to beat general "Aguise" ( the armored guy with a sword )during my childhood, but manage finaly to beat the game !
Were the bosses easy? ye most of em. Was the GAME easy? fuck no. I mean this guy showed ya the easiest way to do it. But there's so many ways u can fuck up. choosing the wrong form may change the game completely. I dare ya to get the emulator and game. then try to beat it any other way but the way this guy showed ya. no comin back and peeking to see how he did it. ;)
dude ur da best man. ive played this game how many tines now and i still havnt finished it. only bcos i can only play it on arcade, wish i had it at home though. newayz ur a champion (wow didnt even die once)

The sheer LENGTH, confusing paths, and secret areas of this game shows how much was put into it...
And this playthrough?! WOW. O.O Just... wow. Incredible.
I never got past maybe the 1st two stages or something.

Bwahaha! I finally beat this game on the virtual console!! What a pain in the neck!
The mini-boss rush was the most difficult part, I think, although the seventh level with the flipping orbs on the bridge took forever to figure out.

when you are inside the chamber, go up to the very top and once you are there, go back down and the entrance to the boss will be revealed.

You are an awesome player. There's only one game that rivals and matches Magician Lord in terms of challenge: The Revenge of Shinobi (Sega Genesis).

He sounds ridiculous in the Japanese one as well, but the "Engrish" is what makes him so hilarious in the English version.
