oh my lord, nick! i am so tired and bored by your jesus "n god bla-bla-bla. but there must be lord to bring us grinderman, wow thats a big-thing!!! and please dear nick, don"t even think about god....,without you sounds far better.what you believe is yours, for sure.but keep your believe ....some of us are non-believers and will burn in hell
@andboy I used to think alike - it's about man who's slowly losing his mind. Now I find there a lot of autobiographic regards. I think Cave tells about the dark sides of being public person - freaks disturbing his private space, stalkers (when he calls to his wife: hey baby it's only me), the vicissitudes of fame (ladder your climbing up/down), papparazzi (telescopic camera) and all that showbiz shit.
A song as the response to the wrong picture people had about someone. “Call it intuition, call it a creeping suspicion, but their words of derision meant they hardly knew me, for even I could see in the way they looked at me…"
Cave’s music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. Absolutely amazing and overwhelming!
Well, many of us are able to understand english, you know (whereas I doubt you can say anything else than "bonjour" in french). Plus it's music, so who cares?

@johnnytwice a man with fear of the unknown looks back. Remorse on what could have been if he had the balls to cut the lasso.

As much as I love Nick Cave, the unsung hero of this video is the violinist.
