@abingdon66 No. They were virtually never under influence in studio (aside from tea). They learned their lesson way back in '65 when they DID try it. Anthology has them talking about it a lot. I think Ringo relates the story that when they did record stoned, they would play it back and realize it was crap.

They are just really tired here. These LIB sessions were the beginning of the end for them. Much better than the Twickenham sessions though.

So, the idea around 1969, was to get back to their roots as a rock &roll band.
