  • bald headed eagles looking for a bite to eat lol

  • cool stuff :D

  • @wiiplayer9isback

That's not a leak. You can always see that turbulent flow around the aft dome of the external tank.

In any case, the Challenger accident wasn't caused by a fuel leak; it was caused by an SRB joint not sealing properly when the motor pressurized. This was partly a result of low air temperatures in Florida that morning, but NASA had observed SRB joint sealing problems on warm weather flights, as well.

  • chupenme ahi

  • THUNDERBYRDS ARE GO.

  • you can record up in space good zoom

  • Nice video. Pretty good quality for a clop that is obviously shot before 1998.

  • "lets go to space to study earth" O-o?

  • Great shot at 3:00

  • Still fueling, moving up to T-Minus 20 seconds

    1:50

  • @tytlyf Actually the fueling is completed and done more than 3 hours before launch. The engines are continually venting liquid oxygen all the way until engine start and the vent arm on the top of the External Tank stays in place until 2 minutes before launch.

  • We're at about T-Minus 35 seconds

    1:35

  • Getting close, I'm grabbing more seats.

  • Still fueling, waiting on TD. Still seats available !

  • HERE WE GO GUYS!!

TDNEvertrade confirmation anyone on buying? cause if so, moon time!!

  • UPDATE!

Remember to replace "Atlantis" with "ASFX" wherever you See or Hear Atlantis!

  • that's 0:30

  • With today's recent developments with ASFX launching, look at :30 for the tempt!

  • does he say in the beginning "ASR we hope you have a good flight....?"

  • watching the whole thing from start to finish with ASFX replacing Atlantis gave me the shiver's!!! I will post launch updates as they come a long! Still holding around 1:20

  • Scottrade Buying restriction removed at 1:22 !!

I don't know how to edit, that's what made me type it out!

  • Space Shuttle ASFX Launch

that should be the title!! 0228

  • Hi!!

Whenever you See/Hear "Atlantis," replace with "ASFX"

This place is going to get busy

  • I almost feel like redoing the video in adobe premier and make your suggested edits!

    Go ASFX Go!

    BigJoeJack

  • 1:12 OTC instead of P...all confirmed GO!

Only once TDA gives up the game!!

  • Wherever you see "Atlantis" on the side of the shuttle, I kept thinking how to edit it to say ASFX!!!

    GLTA!!

  • 1:00 is the best. Retraction of ST buying restrictions underway! Once TDA releases their grasp, all engines GO!!! Skip to 1:12 when TDA removes restrictions. Wait and watch for purging of PR's, confirmed, ASR to the moon and beyond! mark this date!

  • o_o she says t minus 35 seconds at 1:35 or at least finishes saying it

  • Someone can say to me that she says between 2.08 to 2.14 seconds ?? .in the lift off moment....no I listen well ..thanks

  • 'Booster Ignition and LIFTOFF of Atlantis on a mission to study planet Earth'

This flight studied..looked at the earth's atmosphere, the ozone layer, pollution effects, etc..with some instruments in the cargo bay and a free-flying satellite with instruments mounted on it..the satellite was released and later retrieved on this flight.

  • Which shuttle was this? I was at the launch of STS-117.

  • Lisa Malone is the female you hear in this video

  • When was this?

  • 0:24 i wouldnt wanna be that bird LOL

  • When was this launch?

  • Did anyone have huge tits on that mission? They would look awesome with no gravity in space!

  • Your mother, perhaps?

  • No.

  • Do you know how unsofisticated and ignorant that sounds?

Good grief look at what has happened to todays society...

  • I believe you mean unsophisticated. You know, with a "ph", and not a "f". Thanks for playing though.

  • Take me into space please !! I WANNA SEE IT!!

  • Love the sound of the solids lighting at 2:08

  • ¿Who is Lisa Malone?

  • Lisa Malone is the woman's voice you hear during the countdown "the weather at Kennedy is GO" "In the next few seconds thousands of gallons of water will be dump on the platform" up until "Booster Ignition and LIFTOFF of Atlantis on a mission to study planet Earth" look around you'll find other launches with her voice. NASA Public Affairs Officer-spokesperson/commentator-they have them at each of the respective NASA centers.

  • Thanks Men

  • ¿Who is James Hartsfield?

    Is commentator flight

  • Yes, James Hartsfield is a NASA Public Affairs Officer in other words a commentator-NASA commentator-he is in Mission Control in Houston. In this launch here, he is the guy you hear after the shuttle lifts off "Houston now controlling Atlantis underway on its 13th trip to space rolling on course......" You'll hear him in some of these other launch vids on here.

  • OK Thanks Men

  • GREAT VIDEO 1994 STS-66 LAUNCH SHUTTLE Atlantis

  • STS-66 November 3, 1994--one of my all-time favorite launches--thank you for putting this up. And with different camera views than I saw on CNN when i watched this launch in 1994. Great shots. Looks how white and clean Atlantis looks--it had just come back from a modification period in Calif. NASA Public Affairs commentary by Lisa Malone followed by James Hartsfield.

  • great video!!!
