Releasing farmed fish out into the wild is an ecologically disruptive and dangerous idea. It is just as bad as when people dump aquarium fish into the wild. The consequences can be severe. Viruses or parasites carried by farmed fish can end up in wild populations, compromising wild fish population health.They can compromise the genetic diversity of wild fish, or can become an invasive species in a particular ecosystem. Managing invasive species cost governments millions of dollars every year.

You know how they say that only a few fish out of a thousand (salmon) grow up to escape most predators in the open sea? Why don't fish farmers release a few hundred now and then into the wild..maybe it would be great for wild salmon #'s.
