Could not detect any difference on/off with that short demonstration. As for your review of pos/negs you have not even shown that the device does anything. BTW, you need to describe what you don't like about using this device with tube amps. Just saying you don't like how it sounds is not informative.
huh? it makes a tube amp sound actually better, just enhances it, what's not tolove. Makes a Solid state amp sound closer to a tube amp, and a tube amp sound out of this world.
Easily the best pedal to bring brilliance to your overall sound
@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA By itself, nowhere near a tube amp. What you would need is any 7 band EQ, EHX Tube EQ and this BBE stomp plugged into an effect loop of a SS amp. Your tube gas should be cured.
Thanks for your opinion,in my evaluation,at the music store i did a side by side with a high end tube amp,and a high end SS amp.I also said it "makes a SS amp sound closer to a tube amp",of course no SS amp can touch a tube, but for me the BBE made the amps i demoed,& my SS amps at home sound remarkably better. I would love to try the EHX out though,i've heard of such a device, but the local music store doesn't carry this so i couldn't try it out
@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA If you play mostly metal, use a dist. pedal and don't have 3000 on a worthy tube amp to feel good about yourself, buy the TUbe EQ. For $192, you really can't regret it. I have a modded JCM800 head parked since using these. Too much hassle with neighbors, volume etc. My SS amp is a Vox AD50VT-XL SS modeler. I stitched in an effects loop after the preamp just to plug those 3 devices into it. Volume aside, the marshall is just like vanilla compare to the brutality from this Vox.
Well i have a Boss GT-10 running to 1 Randall G200 combo, and 1 single 12" Randall practice amp(i like stereo).I'm trying to play mostly an ambient rock kinda sound, like the group Hammock, and i love tapping, kinda like Matthew Mcghee(you can see his style on youtube).I don't want to limit myself,so i do dabble a little in different genre's
Pardon my noob-ness,what did you mean by your Marshall is vanilla compared to the VOX?
@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA The JCM800 2203 is a terrific amp especially mine. I paid big money for it years ago. But even in full volume glory, it's plain compared to this Vox(ONLY after modifications) probably because I can play with more distorted types than the 800 which are unheard of for me. Out of the box, the honeymoon only lasted a month before contemplated on selling. It's been a year since I added a fx loop and now I care not for the little old ladies crossing the streets. MUHAAHAA!
sweet !!! Sorry to ramble, but being a noob i'm not looking to buy a tube yet, wanna get better before i start the wear and tear on a tube amp.My honeymoon was starting to fade a little,my Randall RG200 is a monster, but i was starting to hear the limits already, til the BBE.Plus the resale of SS amps seems weak. If the BBE made such a big difference in my gear,i can't wait to try out your recommendations.
I've had no luck at all running this to the front of the amp, just the effects loop. They are excellent in any tube amp running through the effects. The rack mount models tend to work in any situation just not the stomp. If you read the paperwork that comes with the pedal you will know.
@shango02005 If I remember correctly, the Class 5 has no effects loop although I could be mistaken. Run the Sonic Stomp through effects loop only. If no loop try one of the BBE rack mount units. They are a sweet unit, no doubt and an excellent addition to any amp...tube or not!.
Actually,it should be the last pedal going in to the front of your amp for best results. It can be placed in the effects loop, but tends to have a dampening/condensed effect there.
it sounds great through a tube amp,, this is a killer pedal..kinda subtle

too much talk, not enough playing.....and why you'd run a pocket pod into a fender tube amp is beyond me
fisherman10101 1 year ago 22
@fisherman10101 maybe because he wants modulation???
nitinlkoin1984 7 months ago
@nitinlkoin1984 understood, but he gets more than modulation going thru a pod

I agree.
I run two Fender Twin Reverbs in Stereo.
The BBE Maximizer just kills the "glass". Don't know why, but those old amps just sound way cleaner and "warmer" without it.
