I've been there. Last month (December '11) did a bike ride from Cape May Point to the North End of the Wildwood boardwalk and back. Started out at around 3 p.m., did not get back until after 6, when it was quite dark. Everything silent, lonely, melancholy. I wasn't trying for speed, but just wanted to see the area in the off season. Instead of going south on the boardwalk, I biked down Pacific Avenue toward Cape May. Discovered the Sea Theatre. Built in 1915. Fantastic!
