It's 06.08am and just finished watching it all, thought I'd watch the first few mins to get a feel of it and just couldn't stop watching it, glad that Nan choose Flo :)

I'm glad that Nan didn't choose Kitty, but I still feel bad for her. It seemed like Kitty did honestly love Nan, but she was to afraid to be who is really is. Instead, she went with social norms and married Walter. I hope she decides to leave Walter and be true to who she is.
@RandomBlackdd22 the term 'gay woman' is a rather generic term, being that gay is term that is used for all homosexuals, whether male or female. however, i am fine with lesbian as well as gay woman and i am proud of being gay :)
I wonder how the family reacted to seeing Nan after all those years and meeting Florence for the first time and what's Alice been up to did she tell her parents about Nan, did she get a new boyfriend who's not gay? So many unanswered questions!!!!!
I think Kitty and Florence are the same in a way. They both treated Nan wrong. Only Florence realised that before it was over, and Kitty didn't realise until way after. However Kitty was afraid of how the world would see her, afraid of her sexuality. It's these things that make me unable to choose who suits Nan better.
@iloveCullens96 Florence didn't break her heart like Kitty, she was keeping Nan at a distance because the woman she loved had DIED. Not all people get over the death of a loved one and are ready to move on in a handful of months, and they shouldn't either. Florence gave her a home and let her stay even though Nan had lied about herself and her past. Florence is nothing like Kitty, and is the obvious choice for Nan.
WOOOOHOOO, Nan got her happy ending!! I do feel a bit sorry for Kitty though, I think she just made a mistake and was scared. But I love Florence :) thank you very much for posting all of these, I really enjoyed it all

Kitty asks Nance to go back with her, Nance says no, and Flo saw them talking and assumes Nance is going to leave her. So Flo leaves the fair, and after Nance has finished telling Kitty off, she goes after her, and they kiss on a bench. It's very sweet, and just as happy as the ending of this one, but not nearly the same...
Florence might have not seem as pretty and attractive to Nan as Kitty was in the book, but in the movie Flo is very attractive and sweet, Nan should have been a fool not to pick her... <3 and yes this ending is totally different from the one in the book, but I like it, it's sweeter as opposed to the bitter-sweet one of the book, and yes Kitty was Nan's first love, but she also loved Florence in both the book and movie, I like both endings :)
Yay! I am team Flo and my heart was pumping loudly when Nan was about to throw the flower. But I am so glad she chose Flo. If she hadn't I would have gone on a murderous trolling rampage at one am. Though i cheered on Florence, I actually don't get why - Nan says in the beginning that it was the happiest six month of her life with Kitty, why doesn't she choose the love of her life? It is like in The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister... Don't get that settling for safety thing.
@DipMeInHoney2 I'm guessing why she said that was because she was infatuated with Kitty, who was her first coming out affair, she thought she was head over heels in love with her, I think she never really expericanced emotions so powerful before.
Though i did like florence, i felt sorry for kitty, you could tell she really did love Nan. Great show, it has thoroughly convinced me to read the book. Thanks for posting!
the actresses are great - but this adaption messed with last parts. Nan didnt' goback to theatre, she hated the fake limelight - which stopped Kitty from coming out and chose Walter. Flo was angry with Nan's speech cos Nan did it for theatrics and not the cause, . Kitty the most tragic of all, the book shows Nan is her great love whom, unlike Nan, she'll never get over. And lastly, the rose was special only to Nan and Ktty and was returned to Kitty. Perfect bitter sweet end. The book is better

Kitty was basically an orphan who relied on popularity in theatre to survive, so of course she relied heavily on other's good opinion of her and society pressures made her chose Walter the only safe option. They also missed the part where Nan ran into the change room after she found out their affair, and when she was rummaging around she found that Kitty had hidden and kept the hand scrawled note that Nan had
sent her at the start telling her she was going to London with her. Kitty was also happy to share the limelight and taught Nan to be a star - which I think says something. Nan never went back to theatre and become a star again. She only ever sang at the bar scene. She decided that she was happy with Flo, the social work and the world they created around them - more real and honest then her past life with Kitty and that stint in rich society. I think the film missed that point too. READ THE BOOK

Ahhhh Tipping The Velvet - my first experience of Keeley. Love this show and I didn't quite realise how many little bits had been cut out of the French subtitled version that's on here so it was nice to see the whole thing! Keeley is utterly gorgeous!
