@pelicane136 we had a gold standard for over sixty years that worked great until we implemented the fed.they say we need to add to the money supply so that we can keep loaning out money to businesses otherwise the economy wouldn't be able to expand, but that's not true. what happens in a gold standard is that the purchasing power of the money supply goes up instead of down as does ALWAYS happens in a fiat currency system.
@theeonionbagel Yes, the gold standard worked while we had the type of economy that allowed it. That is, the government specified that gold was worth a certain value, period. So yeah, the value of money would go up. But, we don't have that anymore. Gold floats on the national and international market. Plus, the levels of monetary exchange today far outweigh the combined value of gold in the world. Unless, of course, you want us to devalue ourselves economically.

Monopolies do not survive long under free market conditions, as without the myriad of government "protections" and "regulations" competitors would have a much lower barrier of entry. - Mostly under $50k annual income
- Mostly college graduates
- This is pretty much everyone I know
For Romney
- Almost no voters with less than $100k

@pelicane136 we had a gold standard for over sixty years that worked great until we implemented the fed.they say we need to add to the money supply so that we can keep loaning out money to businesses otherwise the economy wouldn't be able to expand, but that's not true. what happens in a gold standard is that the purchasing power of the money supply goes up instead of down as does ALWAYS happens in a fiat currency system.

@theeonionbagel Yes, the gold standard worked while we had the type of economy that allowed it. That is, the government specified that gold was worth a certain value, period. So yeah, the value of money would go up. But, we don't have that anymore. Gold floats on the national and international market. Plus, the levels of monetary exchange today far outweigh the combined value of gold in the world. Unless, of course, you want us to devalue ourselves economically.

If we all have the right to life, which I would assume you agree with, then that would extend to unborn children. There's a point where a human is created between conception and birth where this happens. However, I haven't heard anyone tell me when a human becomes a human. If the central planners at the Fed were to set an artificially HIGH interest rate, savings would increase. As they continue to hold the interest rates near 0, DEBT increases, and we are seeing the evidence of this all around us. Monopolies do not survive long under free market conditions, as without the myriad of government "protections" and "regulations" competitors would have a much lower barrier of entry. Have you ever thought about why almost all large corporations support laws and regulations on their respective markets? The reason is they can afford to pay out the nose in fees, whereas small start-ups generally can't.

I was born into a family of neocons. I used to support Gingrich FEVERISHLY and disowned Dr. Paul on the grounds that he had a weak foreign policy. All was based solely on what my Dad & the News said. Then I saw Serial Hypocrisy and newtfacts(dot)com.
My support for Newt was gone.
So once I realized how wrong the media, my Dad and myself were about Gingrich, I did some digging. I watched "You Like Ron Paul, Except On His Foreign Policy."

Remember his adds 4 years ago! I was so excited about seeing his first adds and they SUCKED!!! It was painful! This year they are so much better! I hope so much he makes it into office! ;)
