That random strum at 0:13 looks painful... and so do all the others in that pattern in the rest of the song. :(

Not at all! It's just a steady strumming in an 8th note pattern that happens to have a HOPO in the middle. Trust me, it flows really well.

Would it flow any worse if the strum was a HOPO though? You could still strum it the same.
