  • The greatness of these sounds make me want to cry, it remembers me of the drama of this life, but I won't, 'cuz these songs are made to touch the deepest and darkest corners of our souls and to awaken our will of fire, and to make our life better...

  • Samurais are lame, cool people rae lawyers, doctors and politicians.

Death to honor, god bless law and education.

  • @SpicyHam Honor is almost dead on this planet, so don't worry about it

  • @alynwhite in the TV it is dead. But it is here.

  • The scene with the wood-swords... just amazing...

  • @afrit27 The Last King of Scotland ... blackman :D

  • The last Samurai ... whiteman,

    The last Mohican ... whiteman,

    The last African .. whiteman

  • @afrit27 The last samurai ... Hollywood

    The last Mohican ... Hollywood

The last African ... surely Hollywood

Relax and enjoy the meaning not the color of the actor...

  • es algo muy bueno y esta música es espectacular.

  • Shamefur Dispray

  • REVISIONIST SHIT that "film" plus a Scientologist actor... Read about Jules Brunet the FRENCH hero's life this scenario is based on!

  • @AuxaneD They acknowedge that, on the dvd bonus section, they talk about it, it's a film my friend dont take it so seriously...

  • I cannot wait to grab a criminal police by the neck and drown them in front of everybody and then gets awareded for Honor Peace prize.

  • this movie is epic. WHoever does not rate it high will face severe consequences, I am not kidding.

  • I wish this entire movie was really based on a true story. It would have been epic.

  • @Trollermao123 it is based on numerous stories put together, son.

  • americans always need to take the story of foreigners to them... like tom cruise should represente a french captain... not an american that sucks ... and in a lot of movies thats the same ....

  • raping of Nanking?

    very samurai, much honor there

  • @Geistmeister6 they love raping chinese woman

  • @Geistmeister6 You're funny . . . those soldiers were drafted as young men and were brainwashed with all of Japan's propaganda . Most of the generals in Japan's army were corrupt or were too silent to say anything about it

  • @whitelotus77 so would you say that bombing them with nukes and napalm was bad on our part? (lets try and keep this a civil discussion)

  • @Geistmeister6 When you look at it . Japan didn't seem to want win by means of destruction but fear, aka Banzai charges, suicide dives, war cries, and poor civilian treatment . America intimidated Japan with it's weapons, Japan intimidated America with it's courage and passion to fight for their country

  • @whitelotus77 so would you agree at it being a necessary evil?

  • @Geistmeister6 Which one .

  • @whitelotus77 the nukes and napalm

  • @Geistmeister6 Kinda overkill killing 100,000 civilians.

  • @whitelotus77 yeah, but they were killing their own in droves too

  • @Geistmeister6 Actually they weren't . Japan began a program that called for all civilians to prepare for war, every civilian was to be prepared to defend Japan at all costs, even to the last child/woman/man.

  • @whitelotus77 so if we didnt bomb them into surrendering the casualties would have been much greater, for both sides

  • @Geistmeister6 It depends how you're viewing it . Japan wasn't gonna give up . Neither was America. Either way, you're gonna lose thousands of people

  • @whitelotus77 im thinking millions had we gone with a land invasion of japan

  • @Geistmeister6 That's up to the Japanese to decide . You guys kinda scared them with the type of weapons you unleashed on them . 40,000 people within a city's boundaries

  • @whitelotus77 shock and awe gets the job done

  • @whitelotus77 Actually if you read about history you will find out that Japan had secretly sent word to America to talk about surrender plans.....

  • @Geistmeister6 The Americans forced the emperor to say on the radio that he wasn't special.. For more than 2000 years the Japanese has worshipped an emperor as the son of the heaven. It was just cruel to force him to say that.

  • His name is Ken Watanabe (if I'm correct) and he also starred as the protagonist of sorts, the Japanese general in charge of the Japanese defenses against the US Marine Corp at Iwo Jima (the film itself aptly titled Letters from Iwo Jima; a great film).

  • is this the same acotr like in Inception? i think so... and like in pirates of the caribbean 3? (btw, i'm talking about Katsumoto, the Japanese rebel leader :D)

  • @Centration Inception and Last Samurai Yes but in Caribbean 3 it's Yun-Fat Chow

  • @TheNaum80 Yun-Fat Chow? what's the name of the actor in inception and last samurai?

  • 2:32 epic!!

  • Hans Zimmer also did the music for one of my favorite animes: Blood+

  • Tom cruise is one of the most soild actors period. He has put out some crap in recent years but that doesn't change the fact that he's an amazing actor.

  • Arousing the heart of our soul..Hans Zimmer is truly a great musician.

  • This is the great film with great music ! Hans Zimmer surprising me again and again and again :-) beautiful

  • anyone kinda relate this movie with dances with wolves?

  • WE NEED MORE FILMS LIKE THIS-THAN WE KENN MAKE THE WORLD BETTER

  • @barkahannibal I agree with you !

  • noobs

  • one of ''the epic'' movies

  • @ShaWeezyFromElmont no-one uses soundtracks from other films

  • 2 bad that the Samurais got killed =\ (2:32) <nice

  • Now this movie is not VERY historically accurate but the moral IS historically accurate, my great great grandfather had a saying that ha sstuck with me and my family and it fits this movie and this Historical Rebellion well "In War there are no victories, only more or less dead men, or dead brothers.."

Joel Edmonds who fought in the revolutionary war American Patriot

  • @TheJazzax

How is it "morally accurate" when the samurai where, afaik, the bad guys trying to hold on to an outdated feudal system? The real hero of the movie is Omura when he declares "We are a nation of laws" in the face of a sword clad samurai. That being said, when viewed as a fairytale it is quite an entertaining movie.

  • @jabbernaut couldn't have said it better myself, dunno how many times i've had to explain this to people who take a literal approach of the film :)

  • This movie is really good. When I saw it I was very surprised ( I like very much how Tom Cruise performs in movies) and it's really hearth breating srry for my english. :D Hanz Zimmer compose very nice songs :D d(^_^)b

  • @SWAT961

    (^_^)b I love that!!!

  • The soundtrack was used in the trailer for "The Painted Veil" stang217 :)

  • what other movie is this from!!??! it's driving me insane

  • I enjoy watching the part of this movie where Tom gets beaten up with a bokken over and over again!

  • Who cares about his belifs, Did u see Tom's Topgear lap? that was awsome!

  • lets set it straight he is a cuckoo but a fantastic actor so leave his idiotic believs out of his work

  • This is basically samurai seen in the eyes of Americans. I felt something wrong

when I watched the movie. Samurais here are described like American indians

    in "Dancing with Wolves".

  • the passion and fire in the samurai warriors makes me cry a warriors cry to be passionate about fighting the evil that is to come for everything that i have come to love. i will fight and die with pride and honor in my heart dying a warriors death.

  • Fantastic!!

  • Esta cancion es Dios!

  • That part where Ken Watanabe's character (4got his name) & Tom Cruise's character get gunned down is such a sad scene, when I watched it first time, I almost let out a tear

  • @TheRHINOS1 And I felt for their enemies. I was annoyed with this oh so noble samurai and oh so humane American traitor.

  • Comment removed

  • The most epic part of this soundtrack is at around 1:50-3:17

  • I don't care if Tom Cruise worships a two slice toaster.

I don't see his movies through him. He plays a character...

  • @Braunheim

I agree, I think Tom Cruise is nuttier than a snickers bar, but I still think he's a great actor.

  • The best movie Ive seen, the best soundtrack ive heard..EPIC

  • a ragazzi......questo è un flm normale siu samurai....guardatevi i sette samurai...rushmon....e poi fate il paragone....qui il samurai viene enfatizzato per esigenze di copione...nei sette samurai è li' che si vede chi era il samurai veramente....

  • The samurai's had one of the most courage and honor in their heart. They know too,the most important thing in the world is the Honor.Because

maybe your enemies take your life, but they never can take your Honor.

  • @Royaltom11 Not knocking samurai, but let me tell you that any gangster, any Blood, Crip, Hell's Angel, KKK member will tell you about Honor, Code and stuff like this. Good people usually do not strut about this Honor/Code thing. As a pure entertainment this movie is C +, and as serious statement on values it stinks.

  • @beargrizly67 dude, the samurai's were the most fiercest warriors and they did have "honor" and a code...they were the most fiercest fucking warriors on the face of the planet and if you fought well or brave against them in battle then you get killed, then the samurai would honor you for being a brave and skilled warrior

  • @Youngmarine0109 Yeah. But why you are writning this to me I do not know. My argument were not about this. The samurai might have all code and honor they want, this movie's main message is creepy to me.

  • @beargrizly67 I could bitch both sides of this argument out but I am Biased and will talk about how The Bushido code has a better morale set than anything we can compare it to in modern day. BUT The main message of this movie is that Change is inevitable but one cannot forget that even amongst change one must cling to their own Beliefs and fight for your beliefs, to the death if need be. That If you always hold true to your beliefs you will find the small measure of peace we all seek

  • im taken too... By this film, inspiring my life

  • Bellissimo video, hai immortalato dell'espressioni profonde e potenti , proprio ieri sera su rai 2 ho rivisto il film...

    mi chiedo se

esistano oggi degli uomini di valore......

  • great soundtrack.

  • am still loving it!!! so far the best movie ive seen

  • Awesome :-)

The way of the samurai !!!

  • lol the samurai without hair, the one that dies at end, wich tom helped him to die looks like starkiller from star wars: the force unleashed lol almost

  • you mean katsumoto ?

    Ye he kicks ass :D

  • questi sono film! qeusto è il serivzio dei samurai !

  • i love the film

    i love the soundtrack

    i love tom acting

but i hate him in real life!

  • It's the message, not the people

  • well said

  • the maker wasn't laguing his arse off when he made over 100,000,000 pounds from it.

    you failure

  • youtube is actually american, chk ur facts

  • The film's plot is based on the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigō Takamori, and also on the story of Jules Brunet, a French army captain who fought alongside Enomoto Takeaki in the earlier Boshin War.yes no american captain there....

  • Nah but the yanks have to be in everything tho, in a Medal Of Honor game , they had the desert rats been led by an american officer... is ridiculous!

  • Correct

  • @algrace11

Interesting thanks for sharing m8 :)

  • @algrace11 this has been wikied, coz i did the same :)

  • @algrace11 hence the reason it was called a "movie" just like Baelian was never in the third crusades but then again Kingdom of Heaven is a "movie"

  • @algrace11 and also note that buy that time full armor sets were abandoned for light and no armor much like the chinese and east asian a dynasty before as they began their fire power project before having them abondoned by the cavalry based manchus

  • @algrace11 Not to mention, both sides used Rifles...

  • @blacksheepwall79

no not really, samurai and rifles uuhhhh neuhj

  • @TinusT100 "The samurai were armed with Enfield and Model 1857 Six Line (Russian) muzzle loading rifles and could fire approximately one round per minute. Their artillery consisted of 28 mountain guns, two field guns, and 30 assorted mortars." Source = Wikipedia. Educate yourself...

  • @blacksheepwall79

no not really, samurai and rifles uuhhhh neuhj

  • @blacksheepwall79

no not really, samurai and rifles uuhhhh neuhj:P

  • @algrace11 American's always take credit for the actions of others. U-571 made out as if American's were the first to capture an enigma machine when years before the French and English had already recovered a lot of documents, code books and a few Enigma machines.

  • @OSXHD Poles broke the enigma code!So credits go to us no french or english.Keep that in mind.

  • @xxaba1989xx No French or English credit? If we didn't capture the documents and machines, you wouldn't have been able to crack the code moron. And if it wasn't for England, you'd be speaking German you half-wit.

  • @OSXHD Sure you and your goverment lied to us,WE Poles was defending your country vs nazis and still you claim all worth to you.If you have keep tractates there wouldn't be 6 years war.It would be at last 3.Didnt Churchil gave up czechoslovakia?"We don't want to angry Hitler" WTF? so STFU and play your stupid bf3

  • beatuiful soundtrack

  • Wow, I'm really not sure how the topic of religion got here; but to each his own. Great soundtrack, I love almost every one of Zimmer's works.

  • This soundtrack is amazing... Never heard better. Bardzo wzruszające i klimatyczne...

  • Kurcze uwielbiam tego słuchać

  • Tom Cruise does a incredible job in this movie. He is an fantastic actor.

  • i luv this movie but i find it really hard to watch known tom cruise is the main actor personally i cant stand him.

  • I don't see why Tom Cruise's personal beliefs effect the way people see his movies.

Guess everyone is a lot more ignorant than we think.

  • I don;t see it either.

  • Because a lot of his money he earns from movies goes directly into a cult.

Fucking obvious why people don't like his movies.

  • But a okay when people donate money to a church or a synagogue. As long as it isn't Scientology. >>

  • why not a mosque =P

  • They'd use the money for other crazy shit.

  • ahhh

  • why so big deal about Scientology?, really I can't understand why people flame Tom Cruise only because he believes in Scientology. For me it's just another relegion. Do Scientology promotes the destruction of mankind? I doubt.

Beliefs doesn't matter, what matters are the actions of the person. If god exists He/She will not look to your beliefs.

So whatever if he believes that human beings are immortal spirits, I don't care, I still enjoy his movies and he is a great actor.

  • actually if God exists HE will look at your beliefs. and since he does exist, he does look at your beliefs

  • if He/She is like what the bible says HE/SHE will send a christian to heaven just because the beliefs of the christian and will send a buddhist to hell cause buddhist don't believe in Him/Her, and even if the buddhist was a better person than the christian? that doesn't make sense.

If He/She really exists, then God want us to act good to the fellow man and not to believe blindly in HIm/Her and in a manmade holy book named Bilbe or whatever.

Your Doings matter, not your religion.

  • i dunno why you got so many thumbs down, your comment was one of the best ive read in a long time bruva :)

  • well since he doesn't exist I guess he doesnät

  • Which is YOUR opinion and going on youtube promoting YOUR opinion wont change OTHERS.

  • how do you know?

  • I totally agree...I am not a 'fan' of Tom Cruise, but I have to admit he is an amazing actor and has been in some great films.

  • @KenjiKuso True. I'm not that big a fan of Tom Cruise myself, meaning him in real life but the characters he's played (i.e. Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible movies; Captain Algren in The Last Samurai) have been really good. People shouldn't judge a movie based on whose in it.

  • Comment removed

  • @AncientHistoryLuvr

yah....i don't understand him, but he's a really good actor in my opinion

  • @KenjiKuso

'Guess everyone is a lot more ignorant than we think'

Kind of an awkward sentence there, but it does prove your point.

  • @KenjiKuso amen.. take thing for what they are. His acting skills are unreal, in this particular movie... I haven't seen acting like this anywhere else, especially the Japanese actors. I'm thankful to Tom Cruise for taking a role like this and sharing something so moving with us.. regardless of how whacky he is :P

  • @KenjiKuso i let his personal belief dictate how i see him but not how i see his characters as long as his role dont believe in alien spirits im fine

  • @KenjiKuso No matter what others see, it's what we see that defines the emotion a film is meant to give. And this film is in my all time top 3; don't have to say i respect Cruise to the utmost for having been able to perform superbly in what i believe to be his best film and work.

  • This movie owned so hard. Even Tom Cruise and his $cientology faggotry cannot ruin it for me.

  • hahahahaha!

  • haha "owned so hard"

  • totally, this movie does kick major ass

  • i love this BSO

  • its a top film dam you japan

  • Don't judge other people's religions!

  • This movie is great. But i hate it that producers always pretend that when Tom Cruise is in a movie, the movie is great. At most movie-posters with tom cruise, you'll see Tom Cruise in big bold letters and in tiny letters the name of the movie.

But tom cruise is indeed a good actor.

  • Don't worry, it is clear that after watching the movie "The Last Samurai" is not Cruise but Ken Watanabe's character. His character is an actual samurai after all while Algren, while befriended by Katsumoto, is never called anything more than "the American Captain". It is simply the fact that Cruise is a large Hollywood star that most people naturally asume the title refers to him.

  • Yea, I almost didn't watch it for that reason.. but I thought I'd give it a chance since Ken Watanabe was in it. Boy does he fit these roles like a glove xD.

  • is a nice song

  • one of the best tracks from the movie ost

  • Powerful instrumental

  • great movie, great people

  • and for you that should be "The Last Comment"

  • Man, I was just joking around. Take it easy! Scientology sucks ass, everyone knows that! lol

  • lol, idiot. What the hell does Scientology have to do with anything? Anyone who brings that shit up is no better than the kiss ass paparazzi that follows celebrities around. Who cares what Tom Cruise does outside of movies, I'm entertained by his acting not what he does outside of the movie, i could care less.

  • Sadly his great acting is often overshadowed by people's hypocritical views on Scientology.

  • i agree, lets give people some respect aye. If you do not know them, you have no right to judge them, and even if you did it wudnt be that nice of you to be spiteful would it.

  • Tom cruise is usually not a very good actor, but i have to say that he did well in this. Before you swear at me and tell that "tom cruise is the best actor of all time" please watch a few of his movies and try to notice that his acting style is identical in almost each and every one. Also hes incredible short, they just dont show that in his movies.

  • Well that was one massive conversation so I'll just leave one comment, ok here it goes: So peaceful

  • i think so too one of the best movies ever

  • It was a true sory that is the best part of it. The samurai migth not be of any use in todays battle field and their name migth mean nothing now, that makes me sad to hear cause im a samurai student, but our blade still remains tall waiting for the time untill the people need of protection again.

  • ^^ y i know

where do u learn to be a samurai ???

  • I dont have the pride to call my self samurai yet, is hard and it hurts, i have many scars on my and almost lost and eye whit the blade. There is a school here in Fl, the master is Japanesse and his father was on WW2 as a infantry, he said that his father made a charge against the Americans whit many other Japs only using katanas, they all got kill but his father kill some of them, that is what one of the Japs survivor said to him...

  • If you are gona be samurai then you just need one thing... determination, is hard kid i the name samurai is not something you can get on the streets in just 1yr im 16 now and i will become full samurai at age 20.

  • well i think i know this ^^

    u r 16 ^^ where are u from ???

  • Fl buddy
