@Ethnagei I'd guess that they used Flash or Toon Boom to animate the characters and After FX or Final Cut to create the transition effects. I'd also guess that they used some classical 2d animation, y'know, the frame by frame thing, to do the fishes and then added a granulated filter.

I think the entire tribe was dying from the lack of water... and food. The woman was drank all the water and I guess she was revitalized? But then that guy hit her on the head and that probably did her in.. along with the hunger. I think it was more the head trauma that killed her than the hunger. HUNGU could also be implying something deeper besides the lack of food.

Ppl say this is beautiful because of the art n ths animation. Not the cruelty of others tormenting a mother & child. This story does make sense you just have 2 b creative enough 2 understand the symbolic or metaphor meanings. Basically i think the story is about a child's struggle 2 keep his mother's being alive, and even after he fails, he makes use of his memories of her by creating an instrument of her 2 symbolize his memory of his mother, and continues to play music 2 keep his memories alive
