Also,Jean was so stuck on what happened 35 years ago that she would not let it go. i mean I would have liked to see maybe a flashback to what exactly happened 35 years ago when they were so in love that it would still tax on her. I also didn't like the way she put him on the spot. -of course he did nail himself when he said earlier that he should have married her but come on - he was confused at her just showing up out of the blue.
I don't think Jean is fair to Sam after Claire tries unsuccessfully to make a mess at the birthday party- I mean Claire and he had been going back and forth for 4 years and it was going nowhere. He told Claire it was over at the hotel but Claire would not move on - and it was her own fault for being such a selfish control freak who would not even try to compromise with him on anything.
