The whole attack against America began at the end of the cold war after the US helped Bin Laden drive the Russians out of Afghanistan and then set up base there in place of the Russians when Bin Laden told them to leave, the attack was a retaliation and a direct consequence of our foreign policy where we set up outposts in Oil baring countries to secure America's access to it by force.
