  • I love this movie!Haters gonna hate :)

  • Austen's novel* and seems little like*

  • This movie is a fun, modern version of Austen's novels, meant to entertain. If you do not have an open mind, you won't enjoy it. In fact, I might say some are determined not to like it. However, if you are seeking a touching film adaptation of the novel, I suggest watching one of the others. (I prefer the one starring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth.) Just as She's the Man starring Amandas Bynes seems Shakespeare's A Twelth Night, I enjoyed both for different reasons.

  • It's a cute movie, but pride and prejudice shouldn't be modernized--at least not like this.

  • wot the fuck?

  • Ew! Elizabeth looks nothing like how I imagined her, and even though it's in modern times, she's still not pretty enough! I don't like her!

  • @PhanPhanPhanPhanPhan Would you rather she be a supermodel then, and be *completely* unfaithful to Jane Austen's description of her? Hair colour is of little importance, and Jane is meant to be much prettier. Unless you are the 194 year deceased authoress, who are you to say that this portrayal of Elizabeth is less accurate than what you have imagined?

  • Meh, I was hoping they wouldn't make all the charCters have the names of pride and prejudice, but instead change their names to make it different.

  • This is one of those movies for me where I know that I don't really care for it, but I am going to watch it anyway because it just draws me in somehow!! Let's see if I can make it to the end before turning it off!!!

  • Is Jane a normal name in Argentina? And even if it is, WHY IS JANE NEVER PRETTIER THAN ELIZABETH IN ANY OF THE MOVIES, WHEN SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE?

  • come on people, its a comedy, so treat it like one, its not meant to be compared to Jane Austen's boring dramatic stuff. Forget about the old pride and prejudice and enjoy the movie for God's sake.

  • @FMH99 Awesome comment :), except the last 2 words :(

  • @mangmans oops, I didn't mean that, I was just a little ticked

  • Dear people, it's called modernizing. It's done with Shakespeare all the time. It shows that the story is relevant to any time period, not just the one the original story was set in.

  • Each person in this film is one of those late 90s film stereotypes that all the "cool" movies have. Bookish moo moo Mary, stupidly one dimentional pretty kitty /Lydia, and man eater Jane. It's like a portal to the distorted badly acted pride and prejudice.

  • Its a nice movie but I think the makers should have changed the names and tittle and maybe just said it was loosely based off of Pride And Prejudice

  • I honestly wish they changed the names... at the very LEAST.

  • Having read the book about a dozen times... something is dying inside me.

  • @StellaTZH feelya

  • At least 'Bridget Jones' Diary' did it right... shesh...

  • I wish they'd called ........based on the Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice. Then I don't think people would be as bothered by it.

  • Is this a parody or something? because i'm not liking it

  • "My good opinion once lost is lost forever." Don't I agree, Sir Darcy -.- I cannot believe they modernized Austen's novel. I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice, and I'm pissed at how fake this is.

I did enjoy this movie, only for the comedy though. But I am sad to see such an inspiring novel turned into a catastrophe.

  • God i still can not believe how could they do this with Jane Austen's book.... its just so insulting

  • I WILL ALWAYS REGRET FOR SEEING THAT MOVIE.

  • This is quite a good film and the guy isreally cute :)

  • good movie, but it would have been better if it hadn't been called Pride and Prejudice, just based on it so there wouldn't be so many expectations of it being identical to the book, which no movies really are.

  • @chobunn That's a good point. Like 'Emma' and 'Clueless.'

  • good movie, but it would have been better if it hadn't been called Pride and Prejudice, just based on it so there wouldn't be so many expectations of it being identical to the book, which no movies really are.

  • I like how this movie was filmed. the colors and lighting are so vivid and vibrant

  • Not my favorite version of this novel, but its alright to watch every now and then

  • lydia could get it all day lol

  • Jane sounds retarded..

  • gosh...this is awkward.

  • Thx 4 the info on this one. Not evn gonna try 2 watch it.

  • what in god's name is this crap[?!

  • what huge lips!!!

  • Im only 1.33 minutes into this and i think im going to vomit. Talk about butchering one of the best stories ever written.

  • @paramore15riot it's a mormon-made re-make; just a silly comedy, it's not supposed to be taken seriously. ^^

  • @douxelle I know :) I guess im just annoyed because pride and prejudice is my favorite novel, anyway im sure lots of other people like it :)

  • they killed Elizabeth Bennet!

  • This is the worst version of Pride and Prejudice I ever had the misfortune to stumble upon.

  • so i shouldnt watch?

  • stupid everyone.

  • oh man, this is bad... lol

  • "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a girl of a certain age and in a certain situation in life must be in want of a husband."

    lol

  • why are people too ignorant to appreciate different interpretations to a classic novel?? if you don't like it don't watch it! simples! i have seen every adaptation and read the book many times and this isn't that bad, in fact i like it.

  • i love her car =) good old german vw-käfer

  • Stupid Americans.

  • @0800TEN66 Stupid Brits ;)

  • OMG!! Just do another stupid American movie... But don't ruin such a good novel!! $%·&%/(/&

  • I put french frys on my burger to!!!!

  • The massacred the book; Pride & Prejudice is a highly respected work of literature that these idiots have just totatlly fucked.

  • LOVE this movie!

  • I know Jane Austin's books pretty well, the film is far from it but it wasn't the poin't. I think it's cute.

  • @BelieverbyGrace6 agreed :D love God and Jesus

  • Wasn't this filmed in Provo, UT or something?

  • this is really awkward.

  • its my lit book!nw dont hav to read it B4 exams!

  • @anjali696 in that case do NOT watch this version! You can either watch the 1995 BBC version which is more accurate and close to the book, or the 2005 version which is shorter but very good too!If you want an F for your exam, then you can watch that...Or just read the book!!It's awesome, you'll get addicted to Austen and I'm sure will read all her incredible work! Good Luck.

  • @anjali696 i really wouldn't base your exam on this version. its an okay film but it's not going to even get you a pass grade. 1995 bbc version is by far the best.

  • I think the amount of people who hate this movie is astounding. I think it's alright...I mean, it doesn't really do any justice to the actual book, but it's cute. The worst part about it, in my opinion, is the acting. Jane and Charles are definitely the worst actors ever.

  • i didn't know that jane was an argentinian name..

  • @TheMechanicalHound it's not.. XD

  • The original movie and the novel was better -.-'' Sorry but the modernizing is just...not working D:

  • ...just one question| WHY???

  • It's a fun movie, definitely not to be taken seriously. It's cute.

  • this is obviously lame and not good compared to the real ones but its cute.

  • look this is going to sound mean but how could anyone with a smidgen of appreciation, respect, and overall sense for the book or the author be interested in a movie like this, i mean come on this takes all the innocence and grace and classiness out of the original! and seriously the bennets are NOT rich, i may be overreacting just a tiny bit but anyone who has a true and pure respect for the time, effort, and honor embedded in Jane Austen's novels cant help but be disgusted.

  • @conversearecool95

I agree but since this movie is very loosely based to the novel (room for awakard creativity) there are some better modern takes out there. "Bride and Prejudice" and "Lost In Austen" I highly recommend.

  • @conversearecool95 Asshole!I'm an English major and have a great respect for Jane Austen, but I love this movie.

  • @conversearecool95 Making the assumption that anyone who truly loves Austen's original work MUST be disgusted by this modern comedy is a gross misjudgment. In enjoying adaptations such as this or Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I gain a greater appreciation for the original. Very rarely will you find a movie that follows every detail of its written counterpart.

It's just a movie. Have a laugh or two, and get over it.

  • It looks so stupid, Indd J.A. is rolling over in her grave

  • The first five minutes of this "movie" are SO dumb and pointless. I know people always joke and say, "I want that few minutes of my life back"...but I REALLY do want them back.

  • i agree that darcy is ugly!

  • what the hell is this? omg this is soooo sad kill me now

  • I'm so sorry for this Jane Austen.

  • the original version is 100 times better

  • this is interesting....

  • ok, this movie may be kinda, well, wrong, but it's a HILARIOUS, quirky spoof. lol. thanks for sharing!!

  • um.

  • thanks for uploading... i really love this.. the book was amazing hope this one too...

  • I think the first half of the 2000s was so happy-ish, full of fun colors and crazy clothes.

  • o-0

  • this movie is terrible... first of all... they're not fluid with their words and try to fit in situations that look kind of stupid

    mr darcy is ugly...

jane is not pretty at all and she speaks really slow

and the other thing is... where the hell is mrs. bennet? She is one of the most important characters in the story, actually the story is about how she is desperate to marry her daughters... mr darcy and miss bennet are the main romance but it mentions all of them...

  • looks good but long enough begining!

  • this is really funny, I love Lizzie!!!!

  • LOL. XD Hey, isn't that "Elizabeth" the girl who plays Paige in Prince and Me 2?

  • @kirakirashiya yes it is her.

  • haha. the white shirt girl miss the ball like shit! LOL

  • I thought this movie was called Bride & Prejudice...mm anyway I liked it xD

  • Bride & Prejudice was a totally different movie--same story though. B was the Bollywood version, set in India. This one is set at BYU. Kiera Knightley's is set in England. Whatevah. They're all the same show.

  • i love that song playing in the background when they are all talking in the bathroom, it sounds funny. Anyone know what its called by any chance??

  • a modern version,... interesting...

    (after a few minutes...)

ok so far...though i was expecting jane to be more beautiful (as the book describes her as very attractive)... was kind of expecting a Blake Lively-beautiful, or Emma Watson-beautiful... (just sayin')

  • You're british. Those girls are questionable outside of your paradigm. This woman being Argentinian is part of the BYU joke, since there are tons of South American girls there.

  • Yeeeah BYU!

  • I love her car

  • i like the way they made kitty younger than lydia, because the way she follows lydia's lead in the book she might as well be younger!

  • it's better keira knightley's version...

  • What is the name of this film?? I want to download... but when i write pride and prejudice there is only another movie... pls help me!!! tnx

  • They are the same movie, this is just some terrible modernized version of it.. xD

  • ock, but where can I find this movie? :D i already have another i want this!! :D:D:D

  • Pride and Prejudice a latter day comedy

  • @MayaSv the name of the movie is

    "pride and prejudice 2003"

  • Hahahaha..................She said JERK.

  • I think this could actually be a posotive thing to Jane Austen. So many kids these days say they cannot stand classic literature because all they see are pretty words and phrases from another time. If they were to watch this and see that it truly has an icredible love story behind it; then perhaps they would want to go out and read the original novel for themselves.

  • that is so true, though i wanted to read it after seeing the 1995 version. :)

  • @89chipsahoy i love it when they do something like this, makes me and others realise just how relevant Jane Austens stories are and how much of an absolute genius she is. How many other author' works are still relatable 200 years later???

  • Not many :) and that's what people need to learn about these novels. Any Jane Austen novel is classic no matter how it is told... it all still goes back to the root story that has been told and retold thousands of times. My mother raised me to appreaciate good literature I just wish more people my age saw it that way. So that's why I think this is a good thing for any people who don't quite understand Jane Austen's novels.

  • Ah the LDS - isms..... Do any non-Mormons get this movie?

  • I'm not Mormon but I get the LDS stuff in the movie. Of course, I'm probably one of the few that do :-)

  • @letscallmebob

lol how could we miss it?

This adaptation is good in its own way. Entertaining and..bubbly!

  • what dont you get...im not a mormon.

  • jane austen is rolling over her grave.

  • @harzzrah ROFL!!!! hahahaha

  • @harzzrah Priceless!!! She probably died second time when she saw this!

  • @harzzrah I know... i can hear her

  • american trash,,,,,

  • shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this!!! I'm a huge pride & prejudice fan and love to watch different ones!!!!!

  • i love this film :)

  • I only know this movie exist a second ago....accidentally that is...is it Hollywood product?

  • nope it's not, extremely low budget film...

  • Thanks i was looking for this

  • frig i cant find the one with kiera knighty anywhere!! dang it

  • search for it on youtube.

search for "pride and prejudice 2005 part 1"

    hope this helps.

  • is this based on the book pride and prejustice and does it have the same plot as the pride and prejustice with keira knightley

    thx if someone answers

  • yep =]

  • yeah.

  • this is a cute movie

    love the color schemes

  • what the fuck this is not pride and prejudice jane austen

the famous P&P movies that are actually based on the book are the 1995 and 2005 versions.

  • is the elizabeth in this movie the same girl who play paige morgan in the 2nd prince and me?

  • I love how the pug's name is Austen

Thanks for uploading the movie X3

  • The song played at the beginning with Elizabeth getting ready to leave the house is called "Nothing Wrong"

I can't find the song played while Kitty and Lydia are getting ready, i'm sorry i tried.

  • this movie is horrible, don't watch!

i can watch almost anything, but this was impossible!!

  • sorry, but no one attracts me! they are all ugly....:))

  • As much as I hate the comparison of this story to Jane Austen's book Pride and Prejudice, I do find the movie fairly amusing. Thank you so much for adding it because now I have a chance to watch it again.

  • i agree....the movie was amusing in its own way...but comparing it to the book is kinda out of the way!

  • I love how they applied quotes from the book to the situations though, hilarious.

  • this is not the movie I thought it was

  • sorry, did they just name a DOG after Jane Austen? Is that supposed to be some kind of tribute to her? What the hell is wrong with these people?!

  • they have gone mad!

  • EVerything in dis movie is offensive on Jane Austen's Behalf!!!

  • thank you i love this movie. does anyone know where I can find the song that plays when kitty and lydia are getting ready? it's not on the soundtrack..

  • que version tan mala!!, Jane Austen debe estar revolviendose en su tumba

  • what's the name of that song in the beginning of the movie.. when she is driving and stuff?

  • what is this?!?!

    its awful!

  • I LOVE YOU!!!! Thanks so much for posting :)

  • This is the biggest self-indulgent, marysuical shit fest ever made by BYU dropouts >:D

  • In england thats normal to do lol you can walk into a chip shop and ask for it.

    Tastes so good :)

  • i do that too! but people in america look like i'm crazy

  • The filming is amazing.

  • dry script, beautifully filmed

  • i think it's so weird that they're studying jane austen in english - it said it on the board behind the teachers head - yet they see no similarities between p&p and their life haha. maybe p&p doesn't exist in this world or something.

  • especially considering their names
