@tayandronii If you have damon braces then the brackets themselves hold on to the wire. If your orthodontist uses wire ties, then they are for show. But if your orthodontist doesn't use any of those, then the rubber bands hold the wire to your brackets.

@aprilgdc09 take some ibuprofen (advil, motrin, etc.) the reason your other teeth are hurting is because they're all being pushed together... feel better!

@xIzzyRoxx They only hurt for the first 2-3 days, make sure to tell your ortho. if they feel wrong or not cause they might have done something wrong. And if you're a gum addict like me you can still chew it. Bring chapstick cause after the procedure your lips will be dry and yucky feeling.

braces are awsome.. you'll get use to the braces... i thought they were great. but spacers stunk!!!! i couldn't eat really. they hurt.

you know what... i get braces 2 days before halloween. you know how much its going to suck! do you know what candy i can eat and what i cant?

i think the one big thing you shouldn't eat are things like starbursts and caramels, like that texture because they can get really sticky, ask your orthodontist about gum, some say yes, some say no. good luck!
